With the PC release of Monster Hunter World coming up, it seems that the ingame squads will be tied to our PRIMARY Steam Group (Thanks for the heads up, Kaz!)

To explain MHW's squad's system: Basically if you're in the main menu selecting a character, you will have 3 options to choose from (Matchmake, Group Search & Squad Search)


Matchmake will just throw you into a random group of people regardless of any applied filters.

Group Search will allow you to apply filters while searching for a group: Imagine the following scenario:


"Dammit, I want Great Jagras's Armour but I don't want to/ can't kill it on my own, let's see if there aren't any other people hunting this majestic beast at the moment"

In this scenario you can apply a "Great Jagras" filter and the game will look for any existing groups (groups that had a session made specifically to hunt this monster. You can also start your own session here)


Squad Search will create a unique session that is only accesible to members of the same squad thus there will be no risk of random people joining any of our private sessions (Keep in mind that a room can only hold up to 16 people at most)
