General Rules
Staff have the final say. If you feel that you have been wronged, suggest it RESPECTFULLY to a higher-ranking staff member. If a rule is not enumerated in this list, but is still specified by staff, you must still abide by it.
--Do not glitch/exploit/cheat/use scripts.
--Respect all players and staff. Griefing and harassment will not be tolerated.
--Do not impersonate anyone (ie. similar names).
--All names must have at least 3 consecutive English characters that are not contained within someone else's name in the same order.
--Do not participate in any sort of spam (repeatedly performing a redundant action with malicious intent).
--Explicit content is not allowed anywhere in the community. If you have doubts, ask a staff member.
--Report all bugs/glitches immediately. There is no excuse for not telling a staff member

RDM - Random Death Match
RDM, meaning random death match, is when a player randomly kills/attempts to kill another player for no RP related reason. In order to kill another player in DarkRP you must have a valid RP related reason. If you kill a player without a valid RP reason and commit RDM then you will be punished.

Examples of valid RP reasons:

-If someone raids you and you kill/try to kill them
-If you're raiding someone's house and you kill/try to kill anyone inside that isn't a part of the raid
-If you attack in self-defence

Examples of invalid RP reasons:

-If you randomly shoot someone on the street
-If you attack a player because you don't like them
-If you kill/try to kill a hostage after being paid the ransom

New Life Rule:

The New Life Rule (NLR) states that upon death you forget where you died, how you died, and who killed you. You do not forget your party members or where your base is.
NLR also states that once you died, you cannot return to that location for 3 minutes.
If you were killed during a raid, you cannot turn back there until the raid is over.
Breaking NLR is KOSable by the person that killed them previously.
Cops can break NLR during a PD Raid.
If you were revived, NLR DOES apply but you may remain in the area you died in.
Changing jobs does not void NLR.
During a purge you are permitted to break nlr.

Roleplay:

Do not randomly kill (RDM - Random Death Match).
Do not break the New Life Rule (NLR). You may not return to the site of your death or of a raid for 3 minutes and until a raid is over. This applies to death, arrest, and disconnect.
Do what your job is intended for.
You may kill those who assault you in any way (Stunstick, bludgeon, firearm, melee, etc. You may not scam. Do not demote for non-RP reasons. If someone breaks a rule, report it to staff. Do not demote them.

Parties:

You may only kill for/defend/raid with those who are in your party.
You may only kill for members of a party if you personally witness the attacker and the victim.
Criminals may only party with other criminals.
Your party/base members are all considered a single set of people. For example, if one person in your party raids a base, the others are considered to have taken part in the same raid. Individuals may not raid the same place as separate entities.
You may not leave a base just to raid the members of said group.
You may only defend a base if the names of the base members are on the door. If the door is not visible from outside of your designated area, you must have a sign where players may see the base members before raiding. Parties fill that gap.To specify, unlimited people of all different job types may be in an organization. However, a member may only defend/assist another member who he or she is currently basing with.

Raiding:

You may only raid the same person/base/group once every 15 minutes.
You cannot raid a building from inside another base.
You may not raid an unowned base.
The people you are raiding must be within the base being raided or within just a few steps from the entrance for you to be able to kill them. You may also fire if they attempt to injure you.
You may not join a party while a raid is underway.
Gangster, Mob Boss, Thieves may raid.
You may raid assist. If you and another person are in a party, you are both raiding.
You don't have to advert raid

Mugging:

You may only mug the same person once every 20 minutes.
You may mug someone for a maximum of $5000.
You may not mug more than one person at a time.
Muggings must be adverted.
You must give the player at least 10 seconds to respond.
Gangster, Mob Boss, Thieves may mug.
You may not mug assist. If you and another person are in a party, you are both mugging.
You have to Advert a mug.

Kidnapping:

You may only kidnap the same person once every 20 minutes.
You may kill the person being kidnapped if you successfully bring them to your base.
You may hold a player ransom, while demanding no more than $20,000.
You must release a captive if the ransom has been paid.
You may not kill a kidnapper if you are released upon paid ransom.
Once you have been brought to the kidnapper's base, you may not try to break free or kill your captors.
If you awake and the kidnapper has failed to bring you to his/her base, you may kill the kidnapper only if they are within visible range.
You may not bludgeon players without the intent to kidnap.
You may kill a kidnapper if the bludgeon is swung at you.
You may not suicide by any method to escape captivity.
Kidnappers must release/kill captives no later than 10 minutes after kidnapping them.
If a kidnapper fails or succeeds in kidnapping someone, they may not try to kidnap the same person again for 20 minutes.
You don't have to Advert a kidnap.

Building/Basing:

Each person/party may only own one building. Your props/entities may only be placed on your own property. The homeless are the ONLY ones who may build in public.
Each base can only have 4 fading doors per entrance.
Fading doors may not be stacked on top of regular doors.
Fading doors must stay open for at least five seconds.
All fading door entrances must be controlled by keypads on both sides.
You may not have buttons linked to fading door entrances.
Keypads must not be obscured, must be at eye level, and may not be hidden in any way. They must always be within close, noticeable proximity to the fading door that they control.
You may not have fake/multiple keypads per fading door entrance.
You MUST use your keypads to enter/exit your base, unless you have a Building sign.
All bases MUST be raidable. You may prop block all entrances but one if you so choose.
You must have your name on the main door of the base to build in/defend. Parties will be disregarded.
Do not section/block off areas of the map.
If you are building and do not want to be disturbed, place a sign with BUILDING written upon it on the base. It must be easily visible to be valid.
You may not have money printers or drug supplies while you have a BUILDING sign.
You may not kidnap/raid/mug those inside of a base with a BUILDING sign.
You may not have invisible/difficult-to-see props or entities.
Your base may not require crouch/jump/crouchjump/climb SWEP/any other limited abilities to enter or raid.
You may kill those who trespass on your property
If you have an overhang or prop structure protruding from your base, it may not extend further than the sidewalk.
You MAY ONLY own 1 base

NLR - New Life Rule
New life rule is a rule that is in effect when you die. When NLR is in effect you have to forget everything you learnt and everything that happened in your previous life. As well as that, for 3 minutes you can't return to your point of death. The reason for this is to provide a more realistic RP experience for example if you died in real life you wouldn't respawn and remember everything.
In-game after you die you will see a big bubble where you died. If you enter the bubble you are breaking NLR and after staying in the bubble for a certain amount of time you will be frozen and staff will be informed.

Meta - Metagaming
Metagaming is using information you're aware of in-game when the character you're role playing as shouldn't know the information. For example if someone said in OOC chat that they're being raided and police come and kill/arrest the raiders that would be metagaming as 1) You shouldn't be typing IC information in OOC chat and 2) The police shouldn't respond by running over and killing/arresting the raiders as they would be using information they gained in OOC chat in-game.

FailRP & FearRP
FailRP is the act of doing something IC that is un-roleplay like and covers many different RP situations that you will pick up through playing the game, one in which being FearRP which is also explained here. FearRP is the ignoring of the act of fear and doing this is FailRP which usually results in punishment. An example of FearRP is if someone pulls a gun on you then you can't run away or pull out a gun after them and try killing them, you must FEAR their gun. If the person who pulled a gun on you then turns around and is no longer looking at you, you may then retaliate by pulling a gun or other weapon and attacking them because they are no longer pointing a gun at you so therefore FearRP isn't enforced.




Job Rules

Citizen
You may buy a house.
You can only use hand guns for self defence.
You may not raid.
You may not base with bad guys/criminals.

You may not raid, mug, kidnap, etc.
You may break into the base of the victim of the hit, but you may not damage anyone but the victim inside. You also may not steal from the base being broken into.
You may not own a base, or be part of one.

May murder anyone with an advert saying "MURDER"
Can only murder every 10 minutes
Can base with any criminal job
Can only advert murder

Mayor:

You cannot make laws that conflict with any of the rules unless they are the default laws.
You cannot enforce the law.
You can however make marijuana (weed) legal.
Only the mayor may build inside the PD.
You must state a reasonable RP reason for a lockdown.
Lockdowns may only last 5 minutes.
You cannot make a base.
You cannot make unreasonable laws.
You cannot make a law against jaywalking.
You cannot legalize prostitution.

Government Armed Forces (Cops, S.W.A.T, ect)

You must attempt to arrest a suspect before resorting to lethal force.
If you are attempting to arrest someone and they pull a gun out, you may kill them.
If a suspect is running away while you are trying to arrest them, you can use lethal force.
People can bribe police to look the other way in a situation.
You cannot do anything illegal (except for raiding when executing a search warrant).
All guns are legal for government jobs to use/possess.
No random weapon checks.
You can not unreasonably want/warrant someone.
You must warn someone to put a gun away in public before arresting them.
Cops do not have to advert raid when raiding a base.
You cannot base anywhere else than the PD.
Past second door of PD is KOSable.
You cannot randomly tase people, you must have a legitimate RP reason.
You cannot tase people during raids.
PD is the only allowed checkpoint.

EastSide l WestSide:

You can only and must base with your gang's leader.
You can only mug, kidnap, and raid with members from your own gang.
You can KOS members of the opposite gang.
You can only party up with people from your own gang.
You cannot form peace treaties or alliances with the other gang.

Hobo | Hobo King:

Hobos cannot own doors.
Hobos may build outside.
Hobos may only possess handguns, machetes, and knives.
You cannot randomly slap someone into the air so that they take damage when they fall, this is considered attempt rdm (or rdm if they die).
You may micspam but you must remain stationary and do so in an unpopulated area unless a crowd forms.

Must revive anyone as same as a gun dealer has to sell to everyone.

Max you can charge for a heal is 1k.

You can only use C4 against people every 10 minutes.
Only terrorists may possess / use C4.
When using C4, you must /advert Terror.
You can assassinate the mayor.
When assassinating the mayor, you must /advert Terror.
There is a 15 minute cooldown on assassinating the mayor.

DJ:

You are allowed to put your boombox inside of a prop making it so people cannot steal it.
You may build a small DJ stand outside.
You may not play "ear-rape".

Drug Dealer
You may base with illegal gangs.
You may sell drugs to the public.
Be secretive about your drugs, they're illegal. Failure to do so is failrp.
You may print.
You may not raid.

Take this job when you want to do your duties and only your duties.
