What is YOUR current gaming resolution?

What about 5120x1440, this is a great choice as well but like 4K it impacts the need for higher end hardware to enjoy. Gamers are often budget constrained and so my focus has always been how to get the best value from the experience.

I've been running Eyefinity since I got a pair of HD 5870's for CrossFire. There is no going back from a proper tripple screen setup.

I tried multiple monitor setups many times but for me the bevels just always ruined my experience, thats why 21:9 and 32:9 are so amazing to me.

There is a known physical condition where about a third of the population cannot have their brain remove the physical separation of the images. These people are also the ones that any kind of bifocal does not work, I am one of those.

Thanx Ed, well noted. :)

Two things to note.. res' and boarders.

(res')
When I put this together originaly 4k was a fair way out there to be common.
1080p was getting 'common' but my main gripe was it designed for movies and heading into desktops. Height on the desk top needed more space. Try gaming on it and becomes pretty thin and wide. Like your gunna bump yer head on the top edge all the time.

I had stumbled across a Samy' utility monitor, aside from other cool input spec's, was a small 16:10. I had not realy noticed at the time. It just looked more like a "computer" utility screen. Next a Sam'y TV / monitor on realy good sale and I needed some kinda TV at the time. Oddly also 16:10. (1920x1200) Shortly after I started to notice. Went snooping.

An Asus monitor, seems was built off the Sam'y panel at 1920x1200.. ohh, 27" too..
These were absolutly huge compared to run of the mill monitors ...ah. Scoop!
Shortly there after, a month or two, AMD anounced Eyefinity.!!!!

I had been try'n to run triple screens for a decade after only running one setup for a couple hours at the tear down from one of our LAN parties. Hint Duke Nuke'em 3D, further HINT: 3 systems with -/L and -/R, on a network, on side monitors. CRT / Tube monitors.
Needless to say LAN party tear down took an extra 4hrs or so. ALL had to try it..
Ya, I got hooked, the other guys not so much. 3 systems for one game.. ugh.
Talk about HUGE boarders.. haha, insane for CRT's. Still.. hooked

Eyefinity! The Asus where going outa stock. ..Scoop. AMD 5870 HD's, Crossfire twins, Scooop. Already had a solid 6ft desk... yay..! New style LAN Party. Every one on ONE system. haha.. Still long weekend. Whew. Amazing.

(boarders)
These Asus pannels have amost 1inch boarders. 2inches definetly, TWO much. So, I just tuck the side panels in behind the main. Adjust for vison depth, tilt the side panels in some. Adjust for pixel perfect depth and.. Badda Boom - Badda Bing..

Ultra Wide, Curved Screen (sorta) gaming. A decade before Curve Screen became a thing.

(boarders 2)
You mentioned: their brain remove the physical separation of the images...
You mean they can't DRIVE a car? Cars have 2 large posts, one on either side of the windshield. Widows with munltiple glass panes... bah.
All they need is a good reason to look, and maybe some practice. Boarders dissapear.

On a desktop you have reasons to LOOK at the other panels. You will notice stuff change if your not looking directly at them. Is enough to then look, if you need. Same on the road. You notice change, just not What exactly. We are predators. We notice.

As Predators we have a side vision, its not clear but there. In fact the edges of our eyes are low resolution. Out side edges that is. Think of these edges as LARGE pixels. These make a big differance on eating or being eaten. Predators. We notice.

We are so use to living in peaceful world. Some need reminding. Proll'y why the are so many stupid car accedents. Some learn, some don't, quickly.

Some friends get dizzy when they first sit down at my desk racing. I tell'm.. don't race. Just drive. Feel it out. I give'em more time. They get it.

In FPS shooters, I don't look at the side panels. THEY tell me. I am a predator and deadly.
BTW, all monitors work this way. Some to a lesser degree. like square/4:3.

Trick: go into a game with some kind of horizon. Don't move, just look for some thing small in the distance, like a tree or tower. Center it. Again, stay still.
Now turn your aim so the tree/tower is moved into any corner of the screen.
It will be bigger, the wider the screen, the bigger it will be.
(It does not work in games like Terraria or Angry Birds. These are flat panel worlds. These add moving/parallax skys, helping them feel more real).

You can do this with your own eyes. :)
Go out in the dark. Wander around and look for a realy small flashing light. Stop. stand still. Now slowly, we are such twitchy things, look away slowly. Until you can get it to the edge of your eye. It may take a few tries. Naw.. it will take a few tries.
The smaller that light, with very little around it, the better. It will shock you how big it will become. heh.

You can do the opposite, right now with your hand. Look at some word on this screen.
Reach out with your hand and wiggle all your fingers, slowly, still look at the word, move your hand out to the side. At some point you will see all your fingers moving but you can't count them. The thumb will be reasonabley clear, still blury. But you can't count your fingers. :p There is motion there, just a fuzzy blob.
Just enough to know there might be another predator there. BooO!
With just a single light in the dark the flash will be huge. Not real bright, just enough and just the same size blob as your fingers. Lo-res. Welcome to the predator world.
Now go be dangerous. hahaha..
