Physicists attending to or alumning from the University of Helsinki

This is the group for physicists, astronomers, meteorologists, geoscientists and teachers from the University of Helsinki. Our common denominator is our subject, the glorious science of physics. Group name is shared by the student association of the physics students.

Feel free to join if you feel you are or have been a part of the aforementioned groups. Main content is in Finnish (English summaries are to be expected though).

Relevant to Steam and gaming, we occasionally organize LAN parties. We may also organize online gaming activities.

Tervehdys / Greetings! (English translation at the end)

Pidämme fuksi-LANit 18.-19.9. Matlu-klusterilla. Näillä näkymin aloitamme klo 16 ja jatkamme sitten sunnuntaiaamuun asti. Tarvitsemme vielä luvan klusteritoimikunnalta ja se lupa luultavasti saadaan. Käytettävissä on auto tietokoneiden kuljetusta varten. Ilmoitusta sitten Twistorille (Rekolle), jos ja kun autolle on käyttöä.

We are organizing a LAN party at 18-19 September at Matlu-klusteri starting probably at 16 o'clock on Friday. We still need a permission from the klusteri meeting but that'll probably be arranged. There's a car for transferring computers to the scene and back home: to use this asset, contact Twistor (Reko).

Moderators can now recommend LAN games in the curator menu.
When recommending, try to say what's fun about the game, maybe what you do in it if it's not obvious and for how many players it's for. It would also be useful to note if it requires a high-end PC because people often bring laptops unsuitable for some games.
