So, it's been a while since I last made an announcement, and I know some of you expected the yearly update announcement back in February, but because of Valve's recent choices I decided to delay the announcement until now.

As you all should know, a lot of things have changed in the last year regarding both removed game collecting and removed game trading. Valve has started blocking specific games from their api, making it impossible to properly track ownership, which caused an overall decrease in the number of removed games we can scan for. They've stopped the purchase of Steam inventory gifts, which makes obtaining many removed games after the fact much more difficult, and, of course, with the addition of Steam Direct, there's been a flood of new games (many of which are garbage) even larger than what we saw with Greenlight. As a result, many long time collectors have begun to slow down with regards to their Steam purchases or stop collecting altogether, which is of course understandable.

Considering these circumstances, unlike in previous years, I've decided not to increase the group requirement as of now, to continue to encourage people to work towards a more reasonable goal. This means that the requirement will remain 130 removed games that can be scanned by the group's scanner. Hopefully this will ease the concerns of users who are currently close and want to make that final push. There also may be some changes to the group forums in the coming weeks to make the group a bit more organized and accessible to everyone.

The developer of the game Depression has kindly approached us himself and has offered to distribute keys for his game to people who want it. The link to the discussion is posted below.

Please only post if you do not own the game, and do not ask for more than one key, be courteous to other collectors and let everyone have a fair chance to receive one.

To celebrate 3 years of removed game collecting, it's that time of year again. We've lost nearly 150 games in the last year, not even counting disabled games, which is yet another increase over the previous year. As of this announcement, the requirement for Removed Games Collectors will increase to 130. The boost may not seem like much, but considering we just had an increase in September to account for the Digital Homicide loss, it seems to be appropriate.

As usual, I'll also post a group ranking based on the scanner count, but that will come a little later today (it takes time for the scan to run). I'll update this post in about an hour with the list.
