Some may have noticed by now that there has been an increase in down times for the server. Including an extreme week long gap in connectivity. This has been due to a server side error beyond our control. We still apologize though.

Sadly this has obviously had an impact on the server community's numbers. This coupled with an ongoing save issue (I believe this has been patched by wildcard but the damage is already there for us.) has forced us to the decision of a server wipe and restructuring. We feel we're at a good time for this.

Moving forward, the server will run a Ragnarok map that we will endeavor to keep a constant in our server system. A second clustered server will be added as well that will be a rotating map server, cycling between Aberration and Scorched every two weeks. This should allow anyone to delve into these maps as challenge/raid style maps and complete objectives, hunts and bosses before returning to the main Ragnarok server.

Additionally with the shift to a new map of course comes mod and setting changes. Overall rates will remain generally the same, maybe seeing a slight drop to avoid day 1 monster bases and bolster a sense of satisfaction in what you do accomplish. The game mode may change from PvE to PVP with some heavy protection mods to ensure it's not utter destructive mayhem. Most times we've enabled pvp, everyone just played well together anyway. It's just always nice to have the option for open world engagements and random scuffles.

On the mod front I'd like to see Ecos of course, though they can be a tad cheaty. Same goes for S+. The castles mod was always a favorite but caused considerable lag on the unoptimized Rag server. I'd hope it runs better now but will leave that up to the community. For that same reason I won't be bringing back Steampunk. If PvE is enabled we would use the offline raid protection domes (turned up high on the protection), passive dino protection and we'd disable raid dinos from the server. They really only have one purpose and that's breaking bases, which we are not about.

I know some of our current players may not enjoy the idea of the servers going PvP and I assure you we'd try do it in a way that made it as tame as possible. Our goal is to make this a fun environment for our community, but to also see that community grow as well. We'd all appreciate your feedback and suggestions.
