Agreed. If in doubt with any links, simply try and copy n paste the URL into google, and see if there is any negative publicity about said site.

Okay, here is my question, and it seems have something connected to the topic
of this thread.

Does your credit card still work on steam? Mine doesn't.

I've tried to purchase a game on steam earlier today, and it was denied by the bank.
they told me that the site(steam) I tried to pay has beem marked as "untrusted" for
them recently.

The bank said they has been reported several cases involved card stolen and
fraudulent charges, so I can't use my card on steam anymore, or at least when they
think the site is safe by theirs judgement in the future.

Have anyone of you heard anything about that?
Maybe some ppl's steam account has been stolen away and scammer
got the information of credit card in it, too?

After heard about that,I deleted all the information of credit card from my account,
and paid for the game through paypal. that will be the way I buy games on steam
in the future as well.

Well, i don't know about anyone that have this issue, but yeah paypal i think in my personal opinion is the best way to buy a game

When I upgraded Killing Floor 2 to Deluxe my bank called me saying my card was going to be frozen until I verified my charges. Been odd lately but I called right back and they cleared it up. Strange.

And personally I don't even check the links out I just ignore them altogether. I've never had my account hacked and I've never had a problem logging in. My password is huge and completely un-rememberable. None of my passwords are the same either. And it changes regularly.

Don't rely on Steam either - they can't even keep up with all the fake profiles and bots and nudity, they certainly won't be able to help someone getting hacked.
