Hey is anyone else having problems with the 1.8.4 unofficial patch download link? It always stops for me at about 80% giving me some kind of network error. Tried downloading it multiple times but it always stops.

I'm still around here yeah. I think most of the active community talks on the Discord mostly. My main development is now on Pacific Fury, but I help out with PSA from time to time as I'm able. Glad to see you here :D

Hey! if you are just looking for some fixes, I recommend trying 1.8.5 first. It has all of the community fixes in one patch without all the added content. It is worth noting that it's still not perfect as the game had plenty of bugs

hey guys.. im new here. were checkin bout this game since yesterday n saw the review that it got lots of bugs but there also some community team fixing and making new patch for it. did play for 10 hours now did crash 1 2 times. still the new patch 1.8.4 is kinda big, i think it was like 10 gb xP.

Hey guys, I have been looking at the old US battleships and why some of them have problems with their damage system and die/sink after like 1 hit. I think I have a fix and I'm wondering if any of you would be willing to try it out for me? I'd like to get some testing besides myself just to make sure its working. thanks!

Loved Pacific Storm. Will keep an eye out for the monthly dev diaries for this. An updated version would be fantastic.

@Shiune, no actually, I have two other managers and 4 other developers. I'm hoping the team will increase as we continue however. I actually have a form people can fill out on the website to join the team. There are several different rolls we still need to fill/flesh out.

@Shinue, I would love to be able to do more advertising, or have more community options, but I don't have the manpower to upkeep all of it haha. If we get a social media manager, then maybe that'll happen, but I need to make sure that I'm focusing on the core of the game, and core of the community. But again, I would like to do that as well.

@Shiune. Thanks for your kind comments dude! I'm glad that you're here and part of the community! I hope you'll stick with us while we continue working on PF. I get what you are talking about with PS BTW, for me some aspects of it felt clunky, but overall I like how much control we were given. I'm hoping that PF can streamline the system, while still giving full control, which will leave more time for the player to be managing large fleets and actual battles.

I do know there was a German mod at one point, I'm sure someone around here still has a copy of that. As to making a game that's based in the Atlantic, I don't think I'll do that for a while. I'm working on Pacific Fury, which, as it's name suggests, is in the Pacific. However that game will be completely moddable so I don't see why people can't convert it over to be Atlantic. Heck, I may mod it after I'm done to allow it afterwards as well.

Hey man! glad to meet you again. Dang, the forums feel like so long ago haha. Have you seen the new project? not the PSA updates. I think it might interest you.

As to the patches, if you have 1.8.4 you don't need 1.8.5. the .5 was only there for the people who wanted a small DL and didn't want all the new ships in the game. The install is pretty gentle, just DL and copy all the files into your main PSA direcotry, then you should use the alliesnew.exe as an administrator to play.

Its been a very long time since I played this game because it simply was not running from disk and therefor I got a Steam copy of it.
As I followed the breadcrumbs I ended up on the Pacific Fury website wheresome amazing work has been done by WWJD and compadres.

At the moment the game is still Steam vanilla and I'm wonderering if I should go for 1.8.5 or go for 1.8.4 and wait for the assets of 1.8.5 to come out, and are there any steps to take before installing 1.8.4 or 1.8.5?

PS_WWJD, I remember you form the ancient site where you helped a lot of ppl including me getting the game to run the way they liked, with some very nice mods and or scripts and am amazed that...after so many years you're still doeing just that.. Chapeau dude, very impressive!

Anyways... I'm very exited to rejoin the game and am sure to give you a donation cause its well deserved.

hey, so you install 1.6 by taking all the files inside the zip, and extracting it into the main game archives.

I have to say I never tried installing 1.6. I think I came along after 1.7 came out.

I went to the pacificstormallies.net site and grabbed the 1.6 download file.

The instructions say to just move the arch0003.sma to the data folder.

Ok but there is a whole bunch of other files in there, so I am a bit confused as to why are those other files there?

Also his instructions mention a new BIN folder but I don't see any new BIN folder in the download file.

Normally the allies.exe file or alliesnew.exe file is what tells you the "version" you are running when you start the game. So I would say without a new BIN folder, it is not going to say 1.6 when you look at the version.

I think we will have to wait for WWJD to see this and tell us what's going on.

I copied the two files arch0002.sma and arch0003.sma from the patch 1.6 into the main folder. Is it correct that way ?

Hi WWJD , have downloaded the 1.6 patch, is indeed a zip file. Is it correct that I have to zip it into the DATA folder? I typed it there, but somehow the game does not tell me the patch is active! can you explain exactly how I install 1.6?

@Dan, what's up man! can you provide your PC specs? the game slows due to more and more objects being created by the game as it progresses. It is generally somewhat CPU heavy.

hey guys i know this might not be the place for this, but in the vanilla psa game, when im playing campaign, after afew months my game starts slowing down and it get progresivly worst as time goes on i have to keep turning my speed down til it gets to one speed, at that point its not really worth playing campaign, anyone know a fix???

Erst einmal "Danke!" an WWJD für den fantastischen Mod(Patch?).
Leider tritt bei mir (Version 1.85) der Fehler auf, das nach einer gewissen Zeit die exe Datei nicht mehr funktioniert. Ich komme dann nicht mehr in das Spiel, sondern lande auf dem Desktop, mit der Meldung "exe" funktioniert nicht mehr.
Kann mir bitte jemand da helfen?
