It's very true what you said about long-haired male characters in Otome (who is your favorite, btw? ) Most of them are very polite and soft-spoken, BUT there is one exception that immediately comes to my mind: PENDLETON, haha.

Romance all the way. Love, romantic chemistry and affectionate or longing gestures sprinkled here and there are always THE highlights for me in every VN where romance is not necessarily the central theme and that is neither Otome nor Yaoi. I also love stories set in a historical premise (primarily feudal Japan, Joseon dynasty), mystery that encourages and demands interpreting and paying close attention, dark themes, gloom and doom, (psychological) horror, body horror, sexual content, abandoned buildings, urban legends, revenge, betrayal, murder mysteries, seemingly one-sided crushes that are actually not one-sided at all, friends-to-lovers, enemies-to-lovers, sociopaths, psychopaths, butlers, serial killers, characters who need therapy ASAP, and antagonists who are, simply put, batshit crazy or downright wicked and cruel with very little or a total lack of moral and compassion (it's even better if there are few exceptions to that), who manipulate you into thinking that something good can be found deep inside of them if you just remove all their foul layers, which kinda reminds me of onions, haha. The cherry on top would be an insane, hysterical laugh or the possibility, regardless of how small, for them to change (for good or worse) if the right circumstances are met or (if it's even there) when the genuine good sides and/or intentions of them shine through occasionally. I just like to suffer, I guess.

Also... snow, rain and fog are always a big bonus in my book!

Toma bamboozled (and disappointed) me so hard when I first played his route because I was naive and innocent enough to believe he's just a nice guy, but a few years (and many other peculiar Otome experiences) later, I finally started to enjoy his route, too. So, I can definitely see why you like him and his character trope so much!

Good chemistry between characters is always a plus in my book. I'm looking forward to that a lot!

I've never played Ace Attorney but I got it in the summer sale this year. So many people love it, and I can't wait to see why it's so hyped.

Congratulations on getting out of there unscathed and uncaged! Toma being the first route when you've never played Otome before surely left an everlasting impression, haha.
