I have an Acer Aspire One 532h-2588, can't find anything that runs good. Age of Empires 2 is the best so far, but it jerks every few seconds. Half-Life, the original, runs at a steller 1 FPS. It's like watching a slide show. :(
Naomi 31 Mar, 2012 @ 4:29pm
Worms Reloaded runs on my Aspire One at 1024x600 at 60 fps in most cases. Only exception is when generating a map or when you pick an intensive background (1.66 ghz, 1GB DDR2 Memory)

Just realized Flatout2 runs very good on the Acer Aspire One 722 (C-60 AMD 2gig Ram). Even on higher settings.

I'd recommend Gunstar Heroes, Kid Cameleon, Sonic the Hedehog 1 and 2, maybe Golden Axe or Streets of Rage. Best of a bad bunch.
BrianEatWorld 22 Sep, 2011 @ 11:10am
Its seems some of these Sega Classics would make good NB fodder. Anyone have any recommendations?
Naomi 27 Jul, 2011 @ 1:22pm
Really? That's actually pretty cool.

For Portal, just run with "-dxlevel 90" and set the portal view to 0, which is in the options. I can beat "The First Slice" with no problem on my Aspire One.

@ste.a.rushton - I play KOTOR on my N150+, all settings on low gives me a choppy but tolerable framerate
Naomi 19 Mar, 2011 @ 4:01pm
Half life 2 may run, but don't even bother trying Episode 1, 2, Either Portals or either Left 4 Deads. Most of chich just give you a good ol' blue screen.
Naomi 6 Mar, 2011 @ 9:36pm
Moved away from netbook, but can still help.
ste.a.rushton 12 Jan, 2011 @ 4:19am

Just got a cheapo netbook (N450, integrated Intel graphics)- anyone got suggestions for games I might try out?
JP 11 Oct, 2010 @ 6:02pm
Got a 1215n netbook. Portal runs fine, half life 2 and the episodes have been okay so far, smooth frame rate. Team Fortress is fine as long as there are less than 24. Doesn't like either left 4 dead that much. Street fighter 4 plays real good without the backgrounds enabled.
Naomi 9 Oct, 2010 @ 2:18pm
Alien swarm runs on the new left 4 dead 2 engine. I've tried running l4d2 on my aspire one, and it ran at less than one frame per seconds on lowest graphics possible and no light mapping (every wall and floor was white). what you can do though, is install it and then look for source mods on the internet like zombie master or source forts. those run off of the hl2 engine. knowing that all of valve's games run on the half life 2 engine (except for the newer ones. they are newer revisions of the same engine), you can run half life 2 mods. half life 2 runs perfectly fine on any netbook if you know how to do it right.
Ulricb 25 Sep, 2010 @ 10:37am

Ulricb 24 Sep, 2010 @ 4:25pm

I have an Asus 1005HA and I can run Counter Strike at about 20-30fps. Windows 7 Ultimate, 500Gb HDD, 2Gb RAM, 8Gb Readyboost, 1.6Ghz Atom. Everything runs fairly well when I'm away from my Quad.
Napsu 4 Aug, 2010 @ 2:45pm

товарищ пепел 9 Jul, 2010 @ 7:34pm
Looking to add a couple of good puzzle or strategy games to my netbook library. Any suggestions?
Quatar 8 Jul, 2010 @ 9:21am
I also wanted to mention that Aliens vs. Predator Classic 2000 available here on Steam runs REALLY well on this netbook, even at full res: 1024x600. I'm talking 30-60fps. Multiplayer is great, some of the more complicated user mods slow it down though.
Quatar 8 Jul, 2010 @ 9:19am
I tried playing Half-Life 1 on my netbook, and it ran pretty badly.. After doing some research, I've put together a way to make it playable. It goes between 20 and 30fps in counterstrike.. So it's not terrible, just hard to be competitive :) I can help anyone out if they are interested. Half-life single player is very playable, Team Fortress is decent too.

Hi guys - I've Just spent a whopping £2.39 in the STEAM sale which has added to my collection;

Full Pipe
Super Laser Racer
Port Royale 2

They all run great on my netbook, a good variety of fun and not too demanding on the battery.

nb - Port Royale 2 needed the "compatibility" box ticked in its built-in config program otherwise the main menu didn't appear.

Hello People, the Forum is back up on NBG. Sadly loads of posts have been lost due to some nasty hacking incident! It would be great if you could pop by and say hello!! Thanks :D
Fluffy Cucumber 8 Jun, 2010 @ 4:35am

Has anybody tried Age of Empire 3 ? I had it on my PC but now gonna see if it works on my netbook as well (DELL mini 10v)
Kim Jong-Bing™ 29 May, 2010 @ 6:44am
I don't know if my laptop could be classified as a netbook, it's a Asus G73jh-tz0008x core-i7 720 1.6-2.8ghz @ 1.73.3.03, 8GB RAM DDr3 - 1333MHZ, ATI 5870
Naomi 27 May, 2010 @ 9:06pm
Heya Kazr! so far, all of the games that were posted on the site work just as well on my Acer Aspire One. They should run fine on yours too. unless you are using a 1.33 GHz processor or 512 MB of ram. Just make sure your netbook has proper ventilation! Mine doesn't have a built in fan! >_<
kazr_da_man 26 May, 2010 @ 7:19pm
