Starting up a Vanilla whitelisted server

Starting up a vanilla whitelisted server. The server has a uhc every now and than when the group wants too, but not often. We have a very nice community with about 10 active players.

What would you build: i'm decent with Floating islands and old style houses
What are you best at: I mostly use redstone and i'm pretty good with command blocks and vanilla commands
