Currently i play on my about "half a year old pc" with Ubuntu 18.04, AMD Ryzen 5 1600X, AMD Radeon RX 560 (Open Source MESA drivers).

On top of installing Ubuntu, i only had to install steam and inside steam the "SteamOS + Linux" games are playable "out of the box". Although i have more knowledge, that pretty sounds like "Plug'n'Play" for Linux beginners ;-)

As i might start using/testing Proton, i installed newer-than-included MESA drivers (PPA from paulo-miguel-dias), but before i could play e.g. Payday2 and RocketLeague without a severe issue with the "stock" OS graphics drivers.
