How to start Steam under your Intel card (if it crashes)
For some people Steam will start using the Intel card perfectly fine. For others, Steam crashes instantly. If you are someone who is unable to start Steam without using optirun, try the following command:
ln -s /usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/mesa/libGL.so.1 ~/Steam/ubuntu12_32/
NOTE: If you wish to start Steam with optirun after this you must delete the previously linked file. You can do that with the following command:
rm ~/Steam/ubuntu12_32/libGL.so.1

Thanks this worked, however I had to modify it slightly. My steam is located under "~/.local/share/Steam..." I am running Ubuntu 12.10 x64.
