So as you all probably know by now, pressing the taunt key will open up a new menu instead of taunting with your weapon. Instead, this menu allows you to choose out 8 possible taunts.
To taunt with your weapon, you must press the taunt key again with the menu open.
To hide the taunt menu, switch to a different weapon.

However, with the need to wait for the menu to open before taunting, will Sniper staring contests be a thing of a past? (stab duels, stabbing contests).

Any ideas as to what to do? This message has been appearing when I attempt to join the servers.

I was on the 10vM server and I heard a Demo shout the familiar "Aye!" request. When I rounded a corner to fufill his high fiving needs, I stood and observed his Demo crouching happily, hands near crotch looking ready to catch something, smiling away and bouncing side to side. As we completed the high five, another odd animation played in place of the default.

Any comments or ideas on this strangeness?

There's mass killing and confusion on Silly #2 right now. Someone get a mod or something and help sort things out?

Yes, wacky and balloon races are actual competitive maps. We have those both on the silly servers because sometimes it's nice to have a change of pace every now and then from chilling or other silly server stuff a majority of the time. I gotta admit, it can get boring.

"Well if you want to play competitive then go to the comp server" <--- Well here's the thing, the comp server is often empty during certain times of the day plus at least on these two maps on the silly servers you won't be kicked for being friendly. It's not REQUIRED for everyone to be competitive on those maps (but it would be nice if most people were so it wasn't an unfair game), hence why we tell friendlies to stay in the spawn areas (i.e. the hangars in balloon races or the finish line area in wacky races). This works because if you want to stay friendly, you don't have to worry about players bothering you because they're doing their own thing on a different part of the map AWAY from you.

Plus people tend to get antsy when they start doing the same thing for too long, same applies with staying on maps for long periods of time.

I agree with you, being a friendly for a little too long can be tiresome.

I need to know if wacky_races and balloon_race are actual competitive maps, and not just made so by the community. It would really set things straight to let me know.
