IMPORTANT: RULES FOR MICSPAMMING
THIS THREAD IS NO LONGER BEING UPDATED, READ THE ACTUAL THREAD HERE.

I think a thread or anything bringing attention to the fact that we do regulate and enforce what is acceptable micspam on the server is overdue. So here it is...

MICSPAMMING IS ALLOWED, but if you're gonna micspam, you gotta follow the rules for them. Over time we found that we have to be generally strict about them now.

And no, the servers do not support HLDJ

1) Quality : If you try micspamming music from your iPod or your speakers or another method that just results in nothing but muffled noise, that's mute-able. It counts as bad quality micspam.

2) Volume : Understandably, considering how some micspam works, if you have it going you can't hear sounds on the server (including other people on mic). I'm guessing this applies to how loud the micspamming is as well. Keep this in mind, if someone says it's too loud, then it probably is. Turn it down and ask the server if it's better.

3) One at a time : There's nothing more annoying then a bunch of people trying to micspam over each other. If this happens, all of the micspammers will be muted. Saying you "didn't know" because you had the entire server muted or something isn't an excuse. It's not that hard to check if anyone's micspamming BEFORE trying to micspam yourself. Seriously.

4) Keep it short : Don't keep your micspam going for extended periods of time unless you're doing requests or something.

5) Content : If you're micspamming stuff like a nasty fanfic or anything the staff thinks should just not be on the server, that staff can use their judgement as to whether to mute you or not and tell you to stop.

6) Don't interrupt people: Please don't micspam over people talking, if someone's having a conversation don't decide that's a great opportunity to start micspamming. That's not only a BAD time to micspam, it's also pretty damn rude. It's not hard to ask before spamming. Also don't be that one person that tries to talk over someone micspamming; if the spammer was there first then you can wait. Plus there's a chat box.

7) Listen to the staff : In other situations, if a mod tells you to stop, just stop, or risk being muted or even kicked. He or she will tell you in chat, if you miss it because you're not paying attention then it's really not on us. I mean... if you have to turn off sound shouldn't be paying more of your attention to the chat regardless?

Also, don't give the staff a hard time about this. They're doing their job, and it's either this or not allowing micspam PERIOD.
