I found out about this custom map from the Left4Dead Blog, who recently plugged it. This is a custom campaign that is well worth the download.
The setting is in the Nevada Desert. Level design ranges from narrow bunker corridors, to wide desert plains, to alien ruins. Each is textured perfectly with lighting that keeps you on your toes. The levels are optimised well.
Item pickups are placed realistically, starting light and eventually leading up to the setup you find at normal checkpoints.
Zombie spawns are well placed and logical, you rarely see them spawn from an area that makes no sense.
Panic events are quite numerous and evenly spread out, keeping things from becoming boring or mundane.
The only flaws I could find are AI survivor based, with them getting lost. or being suicidal. Not a deal breaker, but it can be frustrating.
