After you get to the DOSBOX command prompt, type in "koei" to play in color, their isn't much for sound but it is there during battles.
Anythey, there is "!" in top-right. Abothe mini-map.

I will try to spread out the word on gen forums so peopel don't uninstall, i want more sales for this game so that Koei will push Romance of the Three Kingdoms 13 on steam :D
you have to download the optional components for directx 9c like the system requirements said
My game folder has 13 yellow folders has VOICE and VOICE_JP yellow folders, over all 22 file icons in the game file, yet no sound once the game runs =/.
