That is really sad. So much is dependent on how people look when God really looks at the value of our personalities, our hearts.

Jeremiah 23:24 (ESV) - Can a man hide himself in secret places so that I cannot see him? declares the Lord. Do I not fill heaven and earth? declares the Lord.

I have met a few folks who have done exactly this and ended up in conversation. It seems that many are questioning life and faith. I think it's worthwile to engage them. It is pretty easy to spot genuine trolls and those who really want to talk.

We should always be willing to present/defend our position on the matter of faith/religion but should be done respectfully. I appreciate that you have both come to that conclusion. I have seen social media arguments that have become vicious.

From what I know, depression can be very clinical in nature and actually has effects on the brain that can often can be addressed by medication. The problem is that often people stop the medication when they begin to feel better, when in actual fact they may need to continue on it.

I had one experience with it myself but was able to go off the medication after a few short weeks. This was a VERY long time ago, and only came about through deliverance and removing myself from the negative environment. I do not profess to know it all or speak for others, but in my case, I find I have to watch my triggers and get away when the depression threatens to return. I have not needed medication in more years than most of the people in this group have been alive.

I sadly have been forced to intervene in several occasions where people have considered suicide. This is a complicated issue and one that will likely receive lots of comments if people are not afraid to talk about it.

I have known at least one person close to me who committed suicide and it was very sad. In fact, it was a younger distant family member who did not reach out for help. I had no idea as we had not been in touch for a long time. Had I known, I would have tried to help her get help.
