Crit Hit Entertainment
To the IndieGems Community,

I have come across a YouTube channel called Crit Hit Entertainment that has a three-person team working on video reviews for some indie games.

The channel can be found here: Crit Hit Entertainment YouTube Channel

Here's a quote from the About page on YouTube:
Crit Hit Entertainment is an indie gaming channel, hosted by Arlyeon & Lovi, and with a small team of helpful Indie enthusiasts.

Running on a lack of sleep, and an excess of caffeine, they tackle the world of indie gaming, holding developer interviews, podcasts, and other odds and ends.

They also stream, occasionally, though, It's like Herding a pack of lemmings.

It would appear that their passions align with ours in terms of promotion of quality indie games that may have been left unnoticed. I have been in contact with Arlyeon, who wishes to start posting their reviews here on our group forums. I think it would be a wonderful idea to add some quality video reviews to our group.

I have seen from their channel reviews, but also interviews with developers, and some first-look gameplay videos streamed and recorded, some accompanied by real-time active discussion with the developers. I really like that they actively get involved with the developers when they are able to do so.

Sometimes I think a video review can say a lot more about a game than simple words, and the Crit Hit team manages to do that with fairly regular updates. And I hope people who are looking for good quality game reviews will start following them for their content. I will just give you a heads up about the colorful language that may come from Arlyeon in his gameplay videos, but the reviews are more polished and tempered.

To the Crit Hit Entertainment team, welcome to the IndieGems community, and good luck!

Best,
YQMaoski

I'm just going to be chiming in briefly, to first of all say thank you for the warm welcome- I genuinely appreciate it, and I look forward to sharing our work with you folks. (And hearing out your feedback). I look forward to becoming a part of this community :)

And to start things off- I recently did a review for Wadjet Eye's Unavowed, which you can check out down below.

A while back, I had received a review key for a title named Quantum Replica- something which had me at the time fairly excited since I'm a fan of stealth action games. The final review after I'd plunged through the game ended up a lot different then I expected, and one of my more negative ones in recent history.

So, Given I held an interview with the developers for Slay The Spire, the fact that a review was in the works makes a fair bit of sense. It's finally been edited, so I figured posting it up was overdue. You can check it out over here.

So, I just released a review for the 'Grimm' puzzle adventure Haimrik. If any of you folks have an interest in puzzle adventure games, Haimrik may be of interest, especially if you have a rather morbid sense of humour

This week's review release is for Frozenbyte's somewhat unusual take on the rpg/roguelike formula, Has-Been Heroes. Admittedly, this review took me a while since I invested a fair bit of time in trying to get to the guts of the game, and there was a lot of learning required to manage that particular endeavour.

So, in today's bit of Indie Investigating- I decided to post up my thoughts on Thing Trunks 'Book Of Demon's - that hybrid of Diablo Meets Deck Builder Meets ...weird pop-up book aesthetic. You can check out the review over here.

So, this is more of indie gaming news in general- since we recently held an interview with Matt Roszak, the developer of the Epic Battle Fantasy series. Amongst the various topics, we chatter about the upcoming content coming to EBF5, as well as the future of the series :: https://youtu.be/5JMbR8zMrFU
I might have posted this one a bit in reverse, but here's the review I did for Epic Battle Fantasy 5.

So, going for a double review release this week- this time with a review that I'd written a bit further back, but only released today. Namely, it recounts my experiences with a rather particular roguelike RPG, namely Mad crown- which I had invested a fair bit of time into.

Just one review release for this week, and it's fairly bite size to boot. In this episode of Crit hit reviews, I talk about Daniel Mullins follow up game to Pony Island 'The Hex'. And for those familiar with the former title, this one has a narrative rabbit hole that is at least just as deep. (And fairly Meta).

Bit of a late update today- (Life has caught fire, but such is life).

Nonetheless, for those curious- I dived into Micropsia game's 'The Watchmaker recently'.
