Possible Hosting for Need for Speed Underground & Underground 2
I'd like to see if anybody wants to join in on this. I think I've finally gotten NFSU to work properly online, and NFSU2 is a no brainer. The question is, who wants to join? I've been waiting quite a long time to get the opportunity to play some old fashioned Need for Speed online.

I still have the original discs for U1, U2, MW & Carbon. You using GameRanger? I can try it sometime
I use GameRanger for UG2. UG1 is a lot more complicated. The only working method I've found for it so far is Hamachi, and there's a lot of other tinkering you have to do to make it work. That being said, I think UG2 should be a game we can host for, simply because it's easy to get it working and it's a lot of fun to play, even to this day.

I would definitely be up for this, my problem.. I had it on the playstation, and have no legal copies for PC.
Get an illegal copy. Problem solved!

If the FBI comes, just show them your disc on PS2. Close enough

Oh we can connect them up for multiplayer? If so... Ahoy thar you scurvy sea dogs. Gyaaaargh me hearties.
Yeah, of course. The online service doesn't even exist anymore, so LAN is the way to go. Can't mess with LAN.
Bump + Extra information: SuperSic and I have tested and can confirm that Need for Speed Underground 1 works with Tunngle. Anyone who is interested to participate in lobbies, do let me know. The process for making the LAN work in this game is rather in-depth and takes a lot of tinkering, so if there's enough interest, I'll write up a post on how to make it work.

NFSU2 is still very simple and very easy to run, that's not an issue.

I have all classic NFS installed still (like High Stakes to Carbon) except for U1 (but I'll reinstall it some time next week for the heck of it).

Amphy what mod are you using to get a higher resolution than what U2 allows? (because 4:3 aspect ratio is bad looking)

Next week I'll start getting the word out that we're going to try U2 sometime.

The GameCube version was meh. Frame-rate drops, yes it was widescreen with progressive scan but overall was just a meh experience. I ended up selling my 'Cube version, no need when PC runs over my refresh rate of 75hz and the unlimited mods that are avalible.

Your nostalgia of playing with PS2 or Gamecube controllers is taking over :O

The PS2 version had higher graphics overall, and the cars definitely felt more planted. I only played it a year or so ago and it felt nothing like this.

Might see if there's a HD mod. And I want my damn 106, rather than this fat body saloon Civic.
It could also be the fact that you're going from PAL to NTSC. Sometimes there's a difference there as well (huehue 106)
