I went all out on all of it. Runs fantastic at 4k all settings super maxed on my rtx3090. I ran it at 300% supersampling and it runs fine. The control scheme is awkward. They should of gone with traditional VR control scheme and totally avoided a tutorial.

the EULA acknowledgment first time launch in VR was a pain. The centering was all over the place and I had to recenter alot.

So I tested half life alyx with his settings 144hz ss 150%, lowest settings and all. I get about 106fps on my 2080ti. When i use the developer tool to measure the reprojection, its at a low 4%. Bumping up to max settings, I drop down 10fps. It's still smooth. about 91fps (his is at 144hz/fps)

Of course, he is not stressing the rtx3090 because it's pegged at 144hz. So with no stress, I can't telll how good that card is.

so for this game, it's safe to say you get a minimum about 40% performance boost using his settings going from a 2080ti to a rtx3090.

I got stuck playing the clicking game at newegg and best buy and then took off to microcenter to where they were selling in tustin. They had 26 cards. Then I looked at offer up and I saw the scalpers selling these cards at anywhere between 3000 dollars to 9000 dollars. I had the money to buy 2 but I'm not that desperate.

So many ways to look at this card. I run my 2080ti with ss at 250% and maxed settings on everything but the focus is image sharpness and less reprojection in my case. I'm usually within 15% reprojection but this guy focuses on 144hz. At least now I can see where my framerate is at compared to his using his methods.

your brain adjusts and learned to compensate for changes. It might be the slight delay that your brain learned to adjust to. My guess really.

for me, it was driving reverse the first time in project cars. it was a crazy dizzying experience. My brain learned from this and I grew a new set of VR legs. It's fine afterwards.

it is legit! I'm already planning sale of my remaining 3 headsets from vive for one of 2 of these units.

I'm tired of the vive controllers myself. I've gone through 3 new ones.
