For tuning, I always tune once, then stretch all of the strings a bit and tune again. It stays in tune much better. Also, always tune from a flat note up to the correct pitch, don't tune down from a sharp note.

Good job. But I recommend a wire cutter for cutting strings. Standard scissors get some damage when you cut wires/strings with them. Your guide does not work for guitars with FR or similar though.
I wonder how your strat turned into a LP-style guitar after you cut off the strings. Awesome trick :) And I really, really like your Ibanez. Beautiful!
