2015 Call of Duty Championship Predictions: Group A
The Call of Duty Championships are now less than a week away and the best players from across the globe will descend upon Los Angeles to fight over the substantial $1 million prize pool on March 27-29th.

As the 32 teams brush up on their Hardpoint rotations, perfect their capture the flag routes and scramble to compile strategies for Drift, over the course of the week we will be analysing each pool, to discuss what teams we believe will come out on top.

In this first instalment of the series, we will be taking a look at the teams from Groups A & B of the Call of Duty World Championships pools and predicting the outcome of each match.

Group A

Optic Gaming (US) | Nadeshot, Formal, Crimsix, Scump

NxG Rapid (EU) | P1Bo, Duke, Pow3r, Ko1gaa

Vitality.X (EU) | Riskin, Getsom, dyLux, Oxygen

Orbit (US) | Sinful, TwiZz, Accuracy, Lawless

When the groups were announced on Monday, undoubtedly, every team would have been frantically scrolling down the page, with the hope that they avoided one team, Optic Gaming. It’s no secret that Optic have been dominating both online and at LAN tournaments in recent months, placing 1st in the last three major events.

The overwhelming slaying power of Optic presents the squad with the ability to win any match, from any situation, and strikes fear into the eyes of theirs opponents. The ‘GreenWall’ have secured the number one seed heading into Champs, after a dominating victory at the North American regionals, dropping only a solitary map in the process. The pure aggression, ability, knowledge and experience from Optic Gaming makes them my number 1 team from pool A and only a brave soul would predict otherwise.

The second and final spot up for grabs from pool A will be a much closer affair, and may even come down to clutch plays or little mistakes that could cost a team the map. When fans tune in to watch Vitality.X play on Saturday they may be expecting to see the familiar faces of Gotaga and Broken, but people searching for ‘The French Monster’ will be disappointed as this Vitality team has a fresh look. With four ‘unfamiliar’ faces on the team, it could be a nervy opening for the squad with limited CoD Champs experience, and the first match may have to be a settler. Once the magnitude of the moment passes for Vitality, they may be able to mount a charge for the second spot, however, an experienced Orbit squad stands in their way.

The Orbit squad is littered with well-known names within the community and has players that have experienced this type of event before, and this is why I believe they will finish 2nd in the group. Ultimately, the match-up between Orbit and Vitality.X will determine the final qualifier from pool A, and personally, I believe Orbit will be too strong for the French Squad. As for the Italian side NxG Rapid, it will be tough for the underdogs to face off against the likes of Optic Gaming; however I do believe they hold the potential to secure a few maps during their time in L.A.

Optic Gaming 3-0 NXG Rapid

Optic Gaming 3-0 Vitality.X

Optic Gaming 3-1 Orbit

Vitality.X 3-0 NxG Rapid

Vitality.X 1-3 Orbit

Orbit 3-1 NxG Rapid

2015 Call of Duty Championship Predictions: Group B
By StephenGaskell Call of Duty Tuesday, 24 March 2015 13:14

The Call of Duty Championships are now less than a week away and the best players from across the globe will descend upon Los Angeles to fight over the substantial $1 million prize pool on March 27-29th.

As the 32 teams brush up on their Hardpoint rotations, perfect their capture the flag routes and scramble to compile strategies for Drift, over the course of the week we will be analysing each pool, to discuss what teams we believe will come out on top.

In this first instalment of the series, we will be taking a look at the teams from Groups A & B of the Call of Duty World Championships pools and predicting the outcome of each match.

Group B

Denial (NA) | Replays, Attach, Clayster, Jkap

HyperGames (EU) | Veziok, AzoX, mAxxieKUN, Tonyjs

Klar1ty (UAE) | skittleZ, K1 Scotland, K1 DMK0, BasiC SunnyB

Prophecy (NA) | Ricky, MBoZe, Mochila, Classic

Group B looks to be a fairly self-explanatory pool, with two of the more favoured North American teams paired together. Team Prophecy and Denial are undoubtedly the clear favourites to progress from the group stage, but one question that still remains unanswered is, “who will clinch the first spot and better seed?”

Personally, I believe Team Prophecy will come out strong in the opening Hardpoint, through a heavy sub machine gun presence in the form of MboZe and take the first map. However, Denial’s slow play and team strategies will guide them to a Search and Destroy win and ultimately the series.

While the games between Prophecy and Denial should be a decider for the first and second placements of Group B, the other two teams will not want to go un-noticed. Klar1ty are an experienced organisation, having attended the Call of Duty Championships in 2104. Unfortunately, within the previous year, they were quickly swept aside in pool play and realistically they could face the same fate once again.

HyperGames could be one of the surprise packages of the tournament with players and spectators underestimating their abilities. Qualifying from France, the squad may catch some teams off guard and take a map or two, but a series victory may be a step too far.

Prophecy and Denial will be looking to challenge for the title of World Champions as Sunday evening roles around and I honestly believe both teams possess the required ability to do so. Clayster, of Denial, has won a major at every event except that of the Call of Duty Championships, and as a previous member of the Optic Gaming side that finished 3rd last year, there is no doubt in my mind that he will be aiming to do one better and grasp a victory away from his former employers in order to complete his illustrious collection of accolades.

Denial 3-0 HyperGames

Denial 3-0 Klar1ty

Denial 3-2 Prophecy

Prophecy 3-0 Klar1ty

Prophecy 3-0 HyperGames

Klar1ty 2-3 HyperGames

TCM moving to the US to compete in MLG CoD League Season 2
In the last hour, MLG and TCM Gaming have both officially confirmed the rather stunning announcement that the European based powerhouse competitive Call of Duty roster will be moving to the USA to compete in Season 2 of the MLG Pro League.

This is a huge step up for Gunshy, Jurd, Moose and Shane who will compete against the best the US has to offer, including OpTic Gaming, Team EnVyUs and Faze Red in the run up to the Call of Duty World Championships at the end of March.

TCM opted to purchase the Aware Gaming spot in the league – meaning no players will be transferred from Aware to TCM, but instead TCM’s roster will completely replace theirs.

Aware was previously made up of some of the most promising talent within competitive Call of Duty, with Huke and TJHaly both representing the organisation. However, unfortunately, due to age restrictions they are unable to compete at major events, including the World Championships and Gfinity Masters.

As of now, the fate of the current Aware roster is unknown and unfortunately they seem to have had no previous knowledge of the announcement prior to the public statement.

It also appears that MLG have prepared for this eventuality, with the CoD League starting tonight (10th March) all of TCM’s matches have been moved to next week to accommodate for travel and relocation plans for the British team.

This is a huge step for the EU team and after Swanny made the short trip to compete for OpTic Nation last month, before being forced to move back to compete under the World Championship ruleset, this movement brings us the first ever European team to move to North America to compete on a consistent basis.

It is believed that the TCM squad will stay through the CoD Championships till the end of Season 2 and compete in the playoffs – though this is yet to be confirmed by either the team or the league.

Jurd from TCM (@TCM_Jurd) tweeted out a short statement saying ‘’I can't express how grateful I am for this opportunity and I speak for myself and the team when I say that we are determined to make the most of this opportunity, and to not only do TCM Gaming proud, but to make the rest of Europe and in my case Ireland proud.’’

Let us know what you think of TCM’s move to the USA in the comments below, does this help or hinder the EU scene? Who could be the next team to move across the pond?

Advanced Supply Drops Hit Xbox One
Running low on gear in Advanced Warfare? Xbox One players can now purchase “Advanced Supply Drops” in order to obtain more loot. Each Advanced Supply Drop will contain three items and are said to include at least one weapon variant and one item of Professional rarity or better.
Advanced Supply Drops may also include: Items already existing in a player’s Armory, items a player cannot use until the required rank is achieved, or rare loot exclusive to the Advanced Supply Drops which include the Eco Custom Exo and items from the Arctic Gear set.

Activision also stated these Advanced Supply Drops do not include duplicate items within an individual package, but duplicate items may appear in different Advanced Supply Drop packages purchased within a bundle.

Gamers with an Armory already packed with gear will be happy to know these items will come with their own Armory slot. Don’t like what you get? All items can still be redeemed for XP.

Players can now head to the in-game store or visit the Xbox Live store to purchase these new items. Once you purchase your Advanced Supply Drops, they will appear in your New Items list and open like regular drops.

Single Advanced Supply Drops can be purchased individually for $1.99 USD

Bundle of three Advanced Supply Drops for $5.99 USD

Bundle of five Advanced Supply Drops plus one bonus Advanced Supply Drop for $9.99 USD

Bundle of ten Advanced Supply Drops plus three bonus Advanced Supply Drops for $19.99 USD

In the beginning, there will be a purchase limit in place. Players can purchase up to 10 of each bundle type available, totaled at 230 Advanced Supply Drops. Activision did state the limit will be removed at a later time, but no specific date given.

Don’t have the cash for micro-transactions? Advanced Supply Drops will also be awarded after reaching ranks 20, 30, and 40, and after reaching Prestige.
