Hello fellow Game Dev. members,

So it came to mind that struggle in games is pretty hard to balance out. I have play sunless sea and i got an idea of what hard struggle is in that game the problem in that game was it didn't give good rewards after completing a mission. So how can you balance out a game? I think alot of games have good struggle in the start of a game but after thats you don't struggle alot. lets say at a start of the game you have a problem killing enemies but after upgrading equipement it suddenly became easy to deal with. So i dont think you should increase the health bar or damage. But let the player think of creative ways to taking down the enemies like going for a tactic that relies on attacking and restreating or the enemy having chaning patterns that the player can exploit.


So what do you think about struggle in games? How can you balance it out?

Also i'm sorry that i went from a mission sturggle to an enemy sturggle but what i wanted to say is that in missions there should be a well reward for hard mission and in enemies there should be tactics involved to make the game more exciting.

I wanted to know your thoughts about the current greenlight system,


My thoughts about the current system
So what i think about the current greenlight system is its not made that well. With people having good games and not getting there games on steam or bad games getting theres on to steam by giving steam keys.

My thoughts about the new greenlight
So if you haven't yet about the new greenlight system that might come. The new system will get your game onto steam with a fee from 200-5000$. It might give way for more bad content on steam but also gives easier access to good games but small party devs who can't pay that much might not be able to get there game on steam. So its a bit messy from both sides
