GMZombies is a vanilla zombie survival server run by Rev and Shorty.

Joining The Server

If you live in Europe you can probably find the server in your Gmod serverlist, otherwise open your console and type the following to join the server:

connect gmzombies.com

This Group

Joining this group won't give you any ingame advantages but it will allow you to show your support for the server and easily find other members. We may also post announcements from time to time, so join if you would like to be notified about these.

If you would like to make a suggestion, a ban / unban request or just start a discussion, please use the subreddit linked below instead of this group. If you don't have a reddit account you can easily make one with a username and password, no email is required.

Closure of GMZombies

Unfortunately, due to a lack of players and lack of time / motivation for either of us to spend time on the server anymore, me and Rev have made the official decision to close the server down.

Thank you to all of you that spent time playing on the server and for all the fun moments that we had.

I have made all of the server content publicly available on the website, feel free to reuse it on your own server if you wish: https://www.gmzombies.com

November Bugfix Update

A big bugfix and enhancement update has been pushed to the public server.
Below is a list of all issues fixed:

Prop ghosting mechanism tweaked to allow ghosting while on ladders, getting through props while on a ladder is now frustration free
Human and zombie deaths due to trigger_hurt and other environment entities now give assists if appropriate. (Knocking humans off the edge on phoenix or ambush now gives you a kill)
Zombie visual unlock bugs fixed. (Fast zombie showing as locked on lambdacore etc.)
Players who have bought items cannot be flagged as AFK and avoid being picked as zombie by standing still
Players who have selected to always volunteer as zombie show up green in the starting zombie list
Zombie selection code rewritten, it is no longer possible to bypass the zombie limit by force volunteering and suiciding
Standing on skycaded props now does nail damage before prop damage to eliminate pointfarming
Connection messages added to the join/leave message system which display when there are <=5 players or when a player reconnects soon after leaving.

This update addresses some of the main frustrations with the gamemode which should make help make gameplay more intuitive and less confusing.
