You will ONLY be notified if all 4 following criteria apply:

a) There is a Game on Steam/Humble Bundle/Uplay
b) Free for limited a time
c) Stays in Steam library forever
d) Costs money again after the event.

Important:

Don't worry about getting spammed. Only Staff can notify you via comments/events.
