Quick PSA regarding links, and other Scamming Methods!

I'm just going to make this as clear as possible: IF A LINK LOOKS SUSPICIOUS, DO NOT CLICK IT.

With another round of steam hijackers going around, I figured it'd be best for me to get this announcement out there.

A lot of people are sadly falling for it, and having their accounts compromised in the process, thus leading to a lot more Steam Support tickets regarding account hijackings.

A common scare tactic that scammers try is the "Pending Ban" method, claiming that they "accidentally" reported you to steam support for having duped items, or claiming that you have a pending ban on your account.

They will either ask for your username and password or your steam mobile authenticator number in order to try and log in.

There is no such thing as a "pending" ban or Steam admin. Anyone threatening your account is a scammer trying to scare you.

Another scam method is that someone will randomly add you and send a message saying that you "won" some sort of giveaway even though you never partook in one, and would send you a link to a website where you would enter a "code" in order to "Claim" your prize.

It's just another method for scamming you, and getting your account.

Scammers are crafty and deceptive, they won't stop even after they get your account.

But if you believe you've been compromised, Here are a few methods to combat hijacking:

• CHANGE YOUR PASSWORD!
  
• Deauthorize ALL devices signed into steam.
  
• If you have a steam API key, revoke it IMMEDIATELY!
