Farandale Minecraft Server

This is the official Steam group for the Farandale Minecraft server. I will post updates here, add new members, coordinate with members, and post the Server IP when it's up.

Please be patient as I get everything in order. My goal is to have 100-200 players so that there will always be 10 or so people online at any time.

I'm gonna stop guessing at when it'll be up, since everything is taking much longer than I had hoped. The biggest two factors right now are members and money. Let's work on getting more members first. The sooner we can reach 100 members the sooner the server will be up.

Current plans, new discord

James is gonna start a discord group where we can keep casual conversation going to retain interest in the server. He'll be managing that, so if you want to join, be sure to message one of us.

I'm going to get the dedi built soon, so the mods and I will be starting on the build phase hopefully by next month. If anyone wants mods/features added before launch, please let us know asap.

Currently we're planning on having several custom villages and dungeons, a Hogwarts, and some other top secret stuff.

Expect Delays...

So I'm gonna start renting an office space for my VFX job. That's gonna mean less money to build a server. I also need to save for a car so I can get to that office quicker and I really need to build some savings, since I have none at the moment.

The other reason for delay is I'm having trouble getting 100 people together. I really don't want to start the server up with fewer than 100 people because we'll just end up always missing each other, playing alone, getting bored quickly, and leaving. Seriously, low populations are the death of servers.

So what can we do about these problems? I need more members. Like I said in a previous post, if we can get 100 people together and if everyone is willing to donate just $3, that would cover almost the entire server. This is a very reasonable request, as a Minecraft Realms server costs $8/month. So we need to find people that would be fun to play with, and that are willing to chip in a bit.
