First, i am aware this may not be seen, but I am making a note of it here anyway.

Secondly, and mainly, From the 5 or 6 campaigns i have started in this system, i think I may need to do a second minor change to the skill system. Going forward we will be treating all skill checks like we used to treat knowledge checks, that is to say 2 points for failure and 1 point for success.

The reasoning, if it matters to you or not, is in two parts.
One, you need the points more at lower levels than higher levels, but as things were you would be more likely to get 2 points at high level, and only 1 at low level.
Two, this should help mitigate the phenomenon I have seen a few times now of "I could try this, but my skill for that is low, so should I risk even trying, or figure out a different plan all together?" Not everyone feels that way, but I have noticed it more than once, and who knows how many times it's happened in some one's head, never to be announced.

Thematically this all still works under the same logic Knowledge skills used to have, if you make the check you learn less, or more acurately, just confirm that you know how to do it. If you fail, you learn what not to do, and what you might need to do different for next time.

Oh, and finally, Crit failures in this new system will yield no points at all.

To summerize, 2 points for failure, and 1 for success going forward. It seems to be a better fit both thematically and mechanically.
