It's been several months since I hosted a server and it seems time to do it again. There's a new map with a unique feel, still based around a black hole.

It corupted today.
I tried to save it and the back up corrupted.
I have older backups on my workshop, but this has been a struggle the whole time. I'm doing a complete wipe and doing a different theme.

It's been a good run and I'll try it again in 6 months or so if I can.
If anyone wants to take a back up and take over, feel free and please invite me.

The host company for the server believes there may have been a hardware problem on the last server. All the content was moved to a new server, but they took longer than I thought so the last back up was about 6 hours before they did the change. They wiped everything during the change so a few hours have been lost by some folks no doubt. Hopefully it works well now and eveerything can work smoothly. At least as well as SE can run smothly.

I'll attempt this again later. It worked fine for a while but an unkown problem came up and I couldn't figure out what it was, so I'm restoring the back up from before I did the change.

Time to transfer again. I think a portion of the save file is corrupted and it would just be best to wipe and start partially fresh.

Each faction prepare a colony ship. Load it heavy but remember to plan for a 10x inventory.

Winning factions of the Earthlike base competition wil have their earth bases transfered over to the new server.

This week will mark the end of the establishment phase. At the end of the week, the top 3 factions will be given a new level of status.

Mission this week: Faction own an earthlike
There is still no PvP on earthlikes. This is a build event ending on Sunday. All major events after this will focus around the top 3 factions from this event. Rewards will be in the 10k-50k credits range, so hiring other factions or commissioning their labor for ship building will likely be very useful.

There are 5 earthlikes, but only the top 3 will be recognized as the legitimate powers of the system (nations, empires).

To be eligible your earthlike planet must have the following.
1 public gate. Normal prize paid out when it's done.

A publicly accessible trade area, the winning top 3 get up to 4 ATM's depending on the shape and will be made invincible. 4 industry blocks should be compressors.

One large decorative base, with 4 industry blocks and plenty of cargo storage. The top 3 get this station made invincible with an admin block.

The scoring for the top 3 factions will be done as follows(it's a low score is good thing, like golf):
Roster
The faction with the most people gets 1 point
faction with the second most gets 2 points, and so on.

Biggest Trade building
First place gets 1 point, second gets 2 points, etc.

Biggest Decorative base.
First place gets 1 point, second gets 2 points, etc.

The 3 lowest scores are the winners and are granted, in addition to the benefits listed above, 10k credits.

The event will be over on Sunday at midnight PST.


Also, R&D and Arc-9 are hosting events soon and more details will be posted later. Arc-9 is planning a race and R&D is planning a dogfight competition.
I'll support these events and similar future events by throwing extra credits onto the prizes.
