Hero Release Order Revisited
Why is there no tentative (or hell, firm, it's a company) release date and timeline? No offense intended, even mildly.

Valve Time.....Valve Time

Because they dont release stuff until its finished? They're like what Blizzard used to be, only Valve still do so and create quality products with what is in reality a tiny team. (a little over 300 developers - Games like GTA have *thousands* on them and take years to make nevertheless, and just look at Valves pipeline of great games, they're really fast. Like, really fucking fast.)
And theres probably a release-order of such. Its just not public information, and release dates and timelines only lead to rushes, shoddy and half-arsed work.
/rant end.

lol, plans don't equate to shitty work. if you don't know what you can do when you plan, sure, but in that case you shouldn't be trying to do anything professional anyhow.

I agree with him ! these guys work hard and sometimes they don't want to go over a big hero because they got a life too so they do what is easier according to them and yeah im pretty satisfied with them :) So if you like valve and dota 2 don't ask for ETA'S :) And good luck have fun in game :)

I'm satisfied but also not. The ignorance of Valve to keep this game Unofficial and completely based on an Ignorant Invite only system is going to destroy it in the long run. Other games out there are exploding in population while Dota2 is peaking at around 3 million players, granted it's a lot but not enough. Valve is squeezing the pockets and life out of its players and dragging us along a journey of 3 year Beta. This is absurd. Release the game and keep adding heros as the population grows. As of right now the US population feels almost invisible to me and the Chinese are desperate to get No Red Text invites. I'm not sure what Valves problem is but it would benefit everyone if they would just release the game Officially already. Ice Frog may have a hold on the release button but he needs to be removed from it. It's okay to have an Organic game its not okay to have a Stale, Ignorant, yuppy game where the Casual gamers get shut out due to Invites. People will spend money on Microtransactions and Cosmetics IF they can get into the game QUICKLY. This is something Valve / Frog just do not grasp apparently.

I'm sorry, but your comment reeks of ignorance yourself, thus your arguement is invalid. Atleast, on the internetsss. And really, its in no way ignorance on their part. The game is *FAR* from done, but when measured against other "MOBA's" (As in, ARTS'), its finished. Then again, every ARTS out there launched as a half-arsed, poo game.

Maniac, learn to spell. Beyond that, he's (Dead Things Mikey) not wrong. They are mismarketing the game and using the beta to market the game, which is generally a fuck up - look at EA. Not releasing a timeline, people refer to "Valve Time". Even valve gives a timeline. This game has sucked up so much money yet it seems to have what 3 people working on it? This is ridiculous to the extreme. The game should've been complete and been released by now, instead we have a totally shit community that in almost every single game is abusive or retarded (I'm high silver, so it's not just the lowest of the low) and can't even get it's shit together enough to get the content in order. I for one stopped playing at any serious level. The hype from tournaments and the exploitation of players by the company is too much. This game will stand alone for quality, but it'll be replaced quickly enough by a company that gets it shit together. Really, that's what it boils down to, the response of things in the development cycle are nauseatingly slow and instead of hiring more people and getting things done faster, much of the work could and is being done by one or a few people and that's just unacceptable. DoTA 2 will be remembered as a footnote in MOBAs for that fact alone and I for one regret ever putting one hour and one dime, much less a thousand into it. And don't get me started on if the devs were in a taxi and it crashed, it's retarded to have all the eggs in one basket and for more than just the fact that they get almost nothing done. It's more like they're exploiting the playerbase to assuage their egos and develop as a hobby rather than as any serious commercial effort. It's sad.

These things, they take time.

They will be done when they are done, this is also not the place to argue about it.
