Alliance... alliance.
So as it stands we have been members of Lotus Camarilla. If you notice the treasury, they have almost nothing in their treasury. The clan listing has diminished due to their failure to drop rails (our failure as well) and many of the clans listed are either single person Ghost clans or dead clans. Before we start looking for a new alliance, help revamp this one or start one ourselves, I want to know what it is you guys are looking for in an alliance.

Do you care about controlling nodes? Do you think we should be righteous and attack 75%ers or be evil 75%ers ourselves? Should we join an established and proven active alliance or roll the dice again on an up and coming alliance? Should we just start our own (lots of work there)?

We do have built rails, millions in the treasury and an active clan, so we are actually quite a catch.

So. What say you crew?

I don't believe going down the road of only caring about profit and who can bring it to us is the right choice for our clan. I mean I could be wrong on what our "goal" is as a clan, but to me it just doesn't really seem like the type of environment I'd like to be in if I'm just surrounded by people who are only in it for themselves.

That being said, on the subject of how established of an alliance we should consider joining, I'm personally mostly impartial to the decision. Each has their own advantages and disadvantages (basically how much we would matter in the long run vs how much effort it will require and how likely we'll accomplish much of anything), but if I had to pick one I guess I would rather join a pre-existing and established alliance, although it doesn't necessarily have to be THE BEST one.

I don't think I can give much input here. I generally don't like dealing with alliances, as different clans have different dynamics, and I'm a very picky person about who I'm willing to deal with regularly. All I can say is we might be a little more attractive if we're in an alliance that owns territory, regardless of where it is or how much they tax it for.

Keep us posted as the process moves along. Maybe I'll have more to say, in time.

JustAn0ther, I agree that gunning for profit is probably the wrong way to go. I personally don't like the idea and think the Eclipse/ICE method is shady and I'm not into it.

I think jumping in with an alliance that has territory is nice, but it will be tricky without enough research. Right now Space Confederation are the folk heroes of the solar system after having taken back Sechura. V and Synergy are pretty decent. Lords of the East have been VERY dominant and been really great with taxes as well. We do have options but I think with Space Confederation making the move it did today, things are going to shake up again.

I'm not sure if you're seeing the same starmap I'm seeing, because Lords of the East still control Sechura, and they've gone down the 75% tax road plenty of times before. I'd love to see Chirruplet's face if you end up picking Lords of the East though.

Here is the latest breakdown (dropped yesterday) http://www.reddit.com/r/Warframe/comments/2gecfz/pc_dark_sectors_leaderboard_91414/

Rank Clan/Alliance Nodes Avg. Tax
01 Lords of the East 5 (+1) 27.0% (+0.5%)
02 Orion 5 (+1) 52.2% (-1.1%)
03 ICE 5 (-1) 75.0%
04 V 4 12.3% (-14.5%)
05 Synergy 4 37.8% (+8.5%)
06 INVICTUS 2 (+1) 75.0%
07 Conspiracy 1 30.0% (+7.0%)

Lords have an average 27% to ICE's 75%. I think even if they inflate a node from time to time for battle pay purposes, they are generally doing okay right now. Better than Orion. Have to see what next week looks like after Space Confed does their thing though. Like I said, everything will shift.

I really dont think we should got for anyone who has taxed at 75%. LotE have seemed pretty bad too, after scrolling through their history, theyve rarely been under 10% credit tax, and have had some hefty resource taxes too. Space Confederation seems to have made a resurgence, and as far as i know theyve been 0% for a long time now. If we could join them id recommend it, but im unsure how likely they are to accept clans. Im all for dropping out of our current one, as the best ive seen it was around 13 people on total, and that was when we first joined. Now im lucky to see half, or even a quarter of that.

A 0% tax doesn't really make sense from a logistical standpoint. You'd be constantly having to donate just to keep control of the system, and not gaining anything from it. Meanwhile your enemies would be comfortably able to support their efforts through ownership. I don't have any problem joining any of the alliances.
