Bonnie sent me some funds and a request to bring back our Team Fortress 2 server.
This has now been done, it is playable basically as it was but there may be some hiccups and kinks to work out along the way. I intend to get Sourcebans back up and running but this will take some time.

Bonnie payed enough for 3 months up front, judging how well the server is doing nearing the end of this 3 month period we will see if it is worth continuing on with.

I have decided to not renew the subscription to NFO servers by canceling my next payment. This means the TF2 server will be shut off after what was previously the next payment due date.

I just have a bit of a tighter budget right now, and paying for a server that barely gets any use is no longer a worthwhile investment. I can always bring the server back again in the future, as we have done before. But for now I just need to back out of hosting the TF2 server for a bit.

You will have until December 17'th to play on the server, after that it will be gone.

I have recently been informed (by Clockwing) that there is a current issue in TF2 were people are hacking/ddos'ing community servers specifically. Not really sure the validity of these claims, but to be rather safe than sorry I have set up a password for the TF2 server

The password is no secret, so no worries, it is "mushrooms"
and it will be needed to join the server.

I myself was unsure how to join via a favorites list, but I did get it to work through console.
So for those still wishing to join despite the new password, enter your console (I hope you know how to do that...) and type the following

connect caloserver.game.nfoservers.com:27015; password mushrooms

This should allow you to join.

Once things seem clear and safe the password will be removed, apologies for the inconvenience in the meantime

I meant to make an announcement about this sooner, but the TF2 server has been brought back. Such updates/announcements were made on the Discord, but for those not in the discord here is the basic rundown.

It was closed down in Sept 2021 (so about 1/2 a year ago) due to inactivity because nobody really played TF2 anymore. Some people were saddened by this, and others wanted to bring it back.
I asked around and some people showed interest in donating the funds to return the server.
Bonnie pitched in around 2 months ago, but it was not enough on its own to bring it back. (I essentially said I would bring it back, but the initial payment was not going to be up to me)
But finally I was donated the last bit needed to purchase a small 12 slot TF2 server.

So it's back!, for the most part reinstalling everything was easy, just dragged and dropped the backup directory so everything should be just as it was left.

Sourcebans was the only thing out of commission, it is not as simple to drag and drop those files. I tried working on it but only got so far.
I had asked White about their friend (I believe went by Freakin back then) who initially helped set up the server back then, and they offered to help and solved the problem. So we now have sourcebans back!

Since that is taken care of, I now feel more comfortable with the server being more secure, so I want to make this announcement and let everyone else know it is back.
I already have added the server information on the main group page, but here is the address and IP. (Either should work)

A side note: I am aware that 12 slots is not very much, that only allows a 6v6. For this reason team balance has been disabled and you can now "Stack" teams and have more on one team than the other.

If the server becomes very popular again and we are often filling out the 12 slots, I may upgrade the slot size a bit.
ANY donations to do so, of course, would be lovely, and in fact any donations I received would have me instantly upping the slots.
Otherwise I may take a bit to do it myself. We will see how it goes.

Held a vote on discord, and we are just going for it.

Worlds have been restarted, fresh new worlds, and we are basically going without most plugins as they have not updated yet.
