The Faculty

Carl : Mr. Winter joined the staff of Clarenville High in September of 1991 as a science and technology teacher. He is currently teaching Science and Physics. Mr. Winter has been co-sponsor of of the Student Represntative Council (SRC) for a number of years. In addition to school activities Mr. Winter completed his Masters Degree in Information Technology. He also enjoys camping, playing guitar, and woodworking.

Born in Gander, he attended school at Gander Collegiate. Following graduation he attended Memorial University where he studied physics and industrial education. Following graduation he took teaching positions in Wesleyville, Labrador City and Wabush before settling down in Clarenville.

Janet : Mrs. Randell was born and raised in Wareham, Bonavista Bay. She graduated from Memorial University in 1988 with a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Education.

In 2007, she completed her Master of Education through Mount Saint Vincent University. She has a special interest in Drama and hopes to have a successful year with students who also enjoy drama. Mrs. Randell currently resides in Clarenville with her husband and son. She enjoys walking and jogging and attending drama performances.

Graham : Originally from St. John's, Mr. Jolliffe now finds himself in charge of the Math Department. Mr. Jolliffe is a graduate of PWC high school and Memorial University of Newfoundland with a B.Sc. in mathematics. Mr Jolliffe has an active interest in "the woods" and spends a lot of time at his hunting camp. He has been a staff member of CHS for his entire career and, over the years, has been an active coach.

Paul : Mr. Stewart is the Biology teacher at Clarenville High School. He is originally from Glovertown but has lived in Duntara, NL while teaching at St. Mark's School in Kings Cove. He now lives in a park-like botanical setting in Clarenville!

Mr. Stewart, along with his wife Sandi, coach the Varsity Girls Basketball team at CHS. Mr. Stewart also has an M.Ed. from Memorial University in Teaching and Learning. In his "non-teaching life" Mr. Stewart enjoys outdoor activities such as canoeing, salmon fishing and hiking.

Lisa : Ms. O'Gay teaches several Senior High French courses at Clarenville High. Ms. O'Gay has taught on Fogo Island, in Grand Falls-Windsor, Terrenceville, King's Cove and St. John's. She has taught an array of subjects from grade 3 to level III. Ms. O'Gay grew up in Clarenville and graduated from Clarenville Integrated High! Ms. O'Gay has an appreciation of theatre and have been co-director of the drama club. She likes to walk, listen to music, read and explore nature.

Jason : Mr. Lane enjoys coaching A LOT and when he is not teaching you will usually find him in the gymnasium with a volleyball in his hand coaching the Varsity Girls Volleyball team. He also enjoys the Great Outdoors...fishing, hunting, canoeing and hiking.
