Seasons & Teams
Morning,

Now that we are starting to see a core group of regulars, perhaps it's time to start discussing the idea of a short, single class season?

I have been come up with two solutions, the latter would probably be the best for everyone in my opinion but let me know what you think. Firstly I was thinking of having teams for the sole reason of having a way of faster drivers helping slower ones learn the tracks & improve their times by pairing them up. Posting my ghost time around Zandvoort seemed to help slower and faster drivers alike so it appears to be an effective way of improving times, and in teams this could be done internally & improve inter-team competition. The downside of doing this would be that non-regular drivers would hold back their team-mates when they can't race.

The second idea was to have two parallel championships. Regular drivers could be paired up and form the main championship, racing in teams, allowing or a constructor's championship to add some spice, or simply race solo as we do now. Non-regular drivers are also free to join as normal and will enter as "Independents" racing in a separate championship. They can score points based on their relative position to other independents racing that day. This will also allow even the slowest drivers to achieve points, especially when the faster independents don't turn up. Sharing more points out across the field will possibly keep those at the back more interested.

Thoughts?
