If any of you haven't noticed already, I haven't been on the server for a long time lately. There is a few reasons. One is that I have computer issues. I keep fighting it for far too long. The lag ruins of my gameplay. I can't supervise a server when I can't understand what people are using in voice chat, can't guarantee if my own voice chat is going through, and can't be able to be close to an area where people are building without getting less than a single frame on average (and I'm not even exaggerating).
The second reason is that I am sorry to say that, like Hamaro, the server has lost it's touch. The server used to be a place where not only was it for building, but it was also for minges to shoot each other, people to roleplay, to laugh, to race, to joke. Nowadays, the server has become a build server only populated by builders with no sense of humor.
When I imagine Build/Chill/Kill, I see a playground, a beach. Children building sandcastles. People playing tag with water pistols. Sure, someone shoots the sandcastle and it falls apart, or someone steps on it. You know what happens? The kid doesn't cry, he pulls out a water pistol and yells with a smile on his face "You're on!"
Now the playground is nearly forgotten. The beach is closed down. The paint has faded off the monkey bars, and the chains on the swings have rusted off. All that has left is a bunch of drug dealers who are constantly looking over their shoulder for any bystanders. Occasionally people come to build sandcastles to reminiscence, but are warded off by the uninviting crowd. The owners say that it's because there is no more room in the world left for playgrounds.
We aren't the children we used to be, but if we don't try to strive for the server, it will remain in such bad condition. We need to work on repair the damage, remove the rust, repaint. But nobody wants to do that, do you? We try, but nobody commits. The younger generation needs to be invited, and we aren't doing that.
There are rules we create, but have we ever considered just how they impact the place? What if we made a rule where we could have people attack builders if they aren't making complex projects. What if we warn the people that when they go on to expect everything to happen, and try not to make anything you would miss? There hasn't been a balance between the three playstyles.
I can go on and on about the server and it's state, but I need to get to the main topic of this announcement. I would quit, but I have involved myself so much in the server that I can't leave. Maybe one day it might come back to it's original glory. That is why I am stepping down from my duty as an Administrator to a role affiliated with maintaining the group by overseeing its progress, as well any topics related.
This now means that a slot for Admin is now open. I hope that he/she is chosen wisely and can contribute to the server with as much passion as I have, maybe more. I simply have only this left to say: Good luck everyone, and may the server live on the way it should, not need.
