You're Not Alone!

This is just a group for all of you that or know someone who fears those dreaded Barnacles from the Half-Life series.

Me personally, I am a retired Day of Defeat veteran. I served in the 4th ID, 1st MT, and the German 1st FJ. We won many great battles across Europe. But now that I have retired I have decided to dedicate my time to fighting another dangerous threat. The Half-Life Barnacles. These creatures are the freakiest things in the Half-Life universe and must be stopped. We will use peaceful protests to get them removed entirely from the series. Every time it is pitch black and I hear that stretchy rubberband sound of a Barnacle tongue, I completely lose it. But we are not alone!

Barnacle Survival Guide for ENTROPY: ZERO 2

Good day everyone!

Our MVP, Kid Charlemagne, has created a survival guide for the recently released mod for Half-Life 2, Entropy: Zero 2. If you are a big Half-Life fan, you may have caught wind of this mod. If you felt any sort of barnacle related anxiety going into a new Half-Life experience, we've got you covered!

CHAPTER: CHAMBER CATACOMB
This is the first level where you’ll encounter a Barnacle. It’ll be waiting for you at the end of a series of tight corridors. This pathway will be very dark, and have sharp corner turns. However, you’ll see a trail of neon blue footprints to serve as a warning sign.
Confrontation Odds: HIGH
CHAPTER: GHOST VENTURE
While traveling on the road to a certain building, you’ll soon approach a large stone arch. That’s where one Barnacle will be. Fortunately, its preoccupied with a supply crate!
Confrontation Odds: LOW
CHAPTER: EXHUMATION ZONE
After reuniting a valve wheel to a roll-up metal door, you’ll come across two Barnacles. They are in the large room to your left. Hug the right side wall, and continue onto the next area.
Confrontation Odds: LOW
CHAPTER: EXHUMATION ZONE (PART 2)
In the very next area, you’ll find an elevator that brings you to the upper level. On the new floor, outside the glass window, will reveal three more Barnacles. Ignore them and travel to the “Track Power” entrance.
Confrontation Odds: LOW
CHAPTER: EXHUMATION ZONE (PART 3)
Going through the Track Power entrance will bring you to a heavily Xen-infested room. Among other aliens, there will be three more Barnacles. It will be very chaotic in here, so watch where you step.
Confrontation Odds: HIGH
CHAPTER: APPREHENSION
You’re near the end of the game now, but the game dev isn’t through with you just yet. Prepare yourself for an entire cavern filled with Barnacles! Luckily for you, certain weapons will be left behind to help your situation. Good luck!

HALF-LIFE 1 BARNACLE REMOVAL MOD

Hello, comrades!

I am pleased to announce yet another breakthrough on the Half-Life 1 front!

Our very own member, Stardust, has created a mod that will completely REMOVE barnacles from Half-Life 1, Blue Shift, and Opposing Force! So if the rope mod still left you feeling uncomfortable, enjoy peace of mind in a new barnacle FREE experience!

NOTE: This mod does NOT impact or remove the barnacle gun in Opposing Force. It is a separate entity entirely. (One that I shudder at the thought of ever seeing in any source engine/HD remake of Opposing Force)
