Executive Director’s Report

A child or a young person’s family, physical and psychological conditions and emotional support all play critical roles in influencing his/her development. We believe that children and young people, regardless of their backgrounds, can achieve their potentials and shine at different stages of life if they are given relevant and timely support.

BGCA has continually served Hong Kong for the past 79 years. We have evolved and transformed along with the shifting zeitgeist of Hong Kong. Today, we are a credible social service agency with an appreciable scale and scope. Our services are reaching 17 districts in Hong Kong, serving a total of more than 830,000 people. Last year, we conducted extensive research into topics such as children’s health, school life and parent-child reading. To improve the learning environment for children and young people, BGCA also carried out several sustainable programmes including the “Love. Learning” classroom support programme, the “Sharing is Caring Music Scheme”, and the “Mustard Seed Project” with the aim to complement youngsters’ developmental needs.
