Profile of the Week FAQ
  • Q: Am I allowed to enter?
A: Every member of the group is allowed to join the competition and have a chance to be selected. To increase your chance of being selected, have a consistent profile that sticks to a theme or color. You have a chance to be selected regardless of how big your profile is. Profiles using artworks from others without their permission will not be allowed to be part of the competition.

  • Q: When does this event start?
A: Every second week and lasts for two weeks. The first week will allow members to join and the second week will be a voting phase to establish the winner. The voting phase allows all members of the community to vote for their favourite profile. Please do not view this as a competition but as a way to show your support to the efforts which was put into the profiles.

  • Q: How do I enter the competition?
A: To enter the competition you have to comment on the announcements. The AP staff members will then pick some of their favourite profiles from the comment section. Once that is done, the members will have the chance to vote for their favourite profile from the ones the staff have selected.

  • Q: What do I win if I become the winner of this contest?
A: The profile with the most votes will win and will be made player of the week in our group and be added to our guide with all the other winners. Additionally, the winner will receive 10 tf2 keys sponsored by snaws. If the winner does not accept the friend request invite in order to receive the prize within 7 days, the prize will not be given after.

  • Q: How are the votes counted?
A: Everyone who is at least lv 10 on Steam and has been part of the group for over 7 days may cast a vote. Troll comments and votes will be counted as a vote for the profiles with the least amount of votes.

Any form of violating the integrity of the contest or the attempt to, might result in the disqualification of one or more participants, e.g. ASKING YOUR FRIENDS TO VOTE FOR YOU.

I have a question regarding this statement in the rules, if i take artwork that is publicly available and i modify it to have animations etc, would that be allowed or would it still be counted as "artwork from others without permission"?

Hey, if the artist has no restrictions about others using the artwork it is considered okay. For example if an artist on lets say Deviant Art has created something which can be used for non-commercial purposes and you use it on your profile and edit it, you can enter the contest. If lets say an someone on Steam created an artwork and you use it (and edit it) without their permission that is not allowed.
