The official group for the ark server ArkIsLife 10 x taming 4 x gather 3 x xp active admins

So alot of changes have been made over the last few days and we are pleased to annouce that we have added some new exitement to our server in the way of mods! There is also now a server market the co ords are in MOTD when you log in. I thought with so many new things added I will add a run down of some of the mods we have running and what changes have been made to them as well as things to be implemented in the future :)

Automation -
This mod has given us a whole heap of automated tools for mostly more high level play, its purpose is to make some of those tediuous jobs a little easier :). This mod adds an auto compost bin that will pick up poo close enough too it and add it straight to a compost bin, a thatch feeder will then slowly feed thatch into the auto compost bin and if you want to take it a step further then build the fertalizer silo where completed fertalizer will stored upon completion. This mod also adds an auto egg collector, an auto egg incubator (must be connected to power), a new fridge and freezer, a couldron for bulk cooking of recipes and a new table to craft this all at.

Shop -
The shop mod gives you a way to get rid of all those trash items you end up collecting and use that to instead get something useful, there are 4 types of shop that this mod adds to the game. The sell shop allows a user to place what items he/she doesn't want and click sell all to get gold and black pearls (the in game currency). The blue shop or buy shop sells general goods such as wood, gasoline, electronics, polymer, 3 types of hatchable eggs and some saddles. There is a dye/paint shop where you can trade your pearls for every color dye in the game and last but deffinately not least is the weapons and ammo shop! I have tested gathering items and selling pearls and to get a decent weapon and the ammo to go with you will be grinding for a while even with our 4 x gather.

Egg Trader -
This mod adds in a way to get rid of unwanted eggs (unfertalized I believe) and trade them for other types, the cost is 5 eggs for 1 egg of your choice allowing players to make other types of kibble. The egg traders are not a craftable npc and can only be found at the server market place.

Refridgerated Feed Trough -
Allows you to make a feed trough that runs either off electricity or spark powder depending on which option you choose, this will preserve food for your dinos for extended periods of time, I believe a piece of raw meat spoils in about a day and a piece of cooked meat takes 4 days to spoil and unsure of the longetivity of berries.

Cannabis -
This mod was thrown in as something fun but has actually really suprised me at how in depth it is!!! Harvest bushes for cannabis seeds and then go and plant your crops in a crop plot, this adds a new type of arrow into the game, a new type of grinder to make cannabis oil and canabis fibre oil, a new table called the canabis refinery and a ton of potions including speed, strengh and health.

Bush People v1 -
We wanted bush people v2 however something was clashing and the spawning of the bush people in v2 was causing a fatal game error so for now until we can work out what was happening we are running v1. This adds npc humanoids into the game, although they won't raid your base adds a tad of pvp to a pve server. These npc's are armed so beware however if you kill one they carry fantastic items. These npc's are also tamable, knock one out and feed them meat and they will become yours, can carry them on your shoulder, ride them or use them as guards. Have attempted to modify this mods config to stop the rediculous rate of spawn we had, I have removed the spawn zones for them on beaches, grass areas and forrest, they will still spawn up in the mountains, at least I hope. We are looking at getting version 2 running ASAP, V2 adds more npc's variations as well as the ability for them to ride mounts and they will have there own buildings up in the mountains that you will be able to go and raid for awesome loot!

These additions have been tested over the last 2 days now and seem to be running smooth, There has been no increase in lag noticed however I am playing on 32 gig of ram so if anyone has any issues please let us know. Some future mods we are currently looking at include advanced cooking, this will allow players to have more plumbing options, a new type of fuel and fire and a way to preserve vegetables by canning them. We are also looking at 2 smaller mods which are a meat spoiler and an industrial jerky maker, these will be implemented in the next couple of weeks as long as everything continues to run smooth. The feel for this server is we really wanted to make a community so players would interact with one another and develop friendships so as an addition to the market place we will be adding an arena soon. The mod is currently not working however the developer is working on it and I am monitoring its progress closely, if you have any suggestions or feed back please post in our forums :)
