Report a translation problem
Hey all, just making some observations about the images given and some possible meaning in regards to the secret. This could all be totally wrong but I would love to hear some opinions.
Top Left Allusion to mastermind class
Symbols from top to bottom, and left to right respectively:
*This top symbol is unclear. If following symbols used by Diederot, it could be translated as "Air"*If using symbols by Nicolas De Locques, it's actually "Table Salt"*Mercury = Sol (Sun, spiritual gold etc)*Lapis (Almost 100% this is the symbol. Commonly used in jewelry, and was called sapphire in ancient times)*Lead = Mercury (v2)*Summer*"Squared Circle"-Diagram for combining of masculine/feminine, formulaic process for Philosophers stone
Diagram on floor is unclear, still looking for possibilities
Man
*Necklace of triangle is the symbol for fire*Roman numeral 3 on the tome. Way too many "hidden" meanings within alchemy/esoterics to narrow it down*3rd volume of a text possibly, but what? III could be the fleur de lis from Bain's handbook.*Some have suggested that this refers to making 3 bags of meth on Rats
Dice
*3, 1, and 2 are exposed with 1 being on top
Middle Allusion to technician class
Mendax-latin for liar, lying
Death represented in esoterics/tarrot is not a physical death, just change usually.
Chess board:
*Death is placed on F6/F7*Player is placed on C4
Horse shoe has a connotation for luck, so facing the player, luck is with them. Possible allusion to this secret being only accessible on certain lucky conditions? Bain's guide mentions rare missions with a one try policy.
Clock indicates time has run out
Far Right Allusion to enforcer class?
*Loot bag does not weigh the physical incarnation down, skill check? Sword is in the ground, equipped with only paper, pacifist run?
No clear esoteric symbolism that I know of.
Bottom Left Allusion to ghost class
Appears to be imprisoned of his own accord.
*Holding the chains implies he is in control of them*Noose is being offered as an escape, so imprisonment instead of death, not sure what if any implication that is.
37 total tallies on the wall
*Split as 5 and 32.*Possible required amount of waves or timing somehow.
Plant coming from bottom implies life from underneath the floor boards.
*This imagery is reinforced by the strategies of a successful heist page*I suspect whatever secret vault or room we are looking to find is underground.
Here are a few key points that others have posted that I would like to throw into the mix:
(=CBC=)The Pope:
Warning: to those less adventurous and more sensible, this entire discussion may seem stupid and far fetched.
As a starter, Bain's guide mentions secrets and also mentions the big ARG in Payday 1. As well as this it offers 4 odd images that apparently have a meaning. I have had a quick look through and noticed something. (This is a copy paste of a post I made on a discussion I made using a phone.
This may sound far fetched, but hear me out on this one. Looking at the 4 images at the end I've come up with a maybe OTT theory but have a look. (First image) On rats, make 3 bags of meth (alchemy and beakers, as well as 3 on the dice and book) (second image/day) Have the gangsters deceive you (mentax in Latin) out of luck (horseshoe) or maybe deceive them, take one bag and leave them with 2 (chess pieces) all within a time limit (hourglass). (Picture 3) have the person take the bag and the info all without attacking and have the same person (picture 4) possibly suicide in the bus next day or something. It's farfetched but meh. Each image could represent a different player or there may be more. Also each image has small 3 letter words. Last 3 say CGO and the first I think was BDN. These are most likely signatures though. Well, that's me done.
I would love people to look into these pictures as they DO hold a purpose.
MLG_Pedro:
Not sure if anyone's made this connection, but on the 4th page of the guide it has the Roman numerals MDCCXCII, which is 1792. Now Cagliostro died in 1795, so he was alive in 1792. Circled in red on page 5 are the words "the king's justice" with the text "the more things change..." In 1792 King Louis XVI of France was put on trial and arrested for treason. He was found guilty and executed on 21st of January 1793. King Louis XVI was married to Marie Antoinette, who was part of the Affair of the Diamond Necklace, along with Alessandro Cagliostro. I'm not sure if I'm picking at straws but these 3 people seem strongly connected, and are mentioned in the guide (bar Marie Antoinette).
Last thoughts:
There is still a lot of cool symbolism in the other images throughout the guide. Probably worth spending some time looking into it for more clues. Overkill has been generous enough to include all the individual music stems *As an audio specialist I plan on looking into the waveforms for irregularities, possibly overlaying them together, maybe some hidden audio?
Thank you for reading this strange piece of rambling. Also sorry if my formatting sucks.
You may want to relook at that, if death is the player using the black pieces then he is at position B6 / C6 with the other player being at E3.
MDCCXCII in Roman numerals would be the year of 1792. So what makes the year of 1792 so important? well take a look at this post http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/French_Crown_Jewels#Theft_of_the_crown_jewels_during_the_revolution

Sounds perfect, didn't someone say that Bain mentions the hope diamond at one point in the bit before a heist?
Yes, I said that in another discussion. You can hear bain saying "I dont know whats in there, government secrets, dirty laundry, the HOPE DIAMOND."
Also in this picture http://imgur.com/p95wthg you can see III written in Roman numerals. On one of the other pictures with Lady Justice is IV written on a wall.
I cannot really show you the complete part. But here is what you so far (for today) have given me to put together.
Keep giving me info and I will keep working my ass of for all of you!
Great regards, from a very busy Lexi!

It's farfetched, sure, but Bain DOES say that he wants to train us all for the biggest heist in history.
Also, tying it in with the Cagliostro reference, this could also mean that we're overthrowing the Freemasons, or working with the Freemasons to overthrow the Illuminati, since we see a whole lot of Illuminati references in the game.
Z+Y=missing the the bank vault from the depositboxes.... could they be Z and Y axis?
The tree in the big oil (day 2) i find that a bit strange... i bet the secret is under it!
When you turn on the "blinds/shutters" in the Big oil mission, turn around and look at the tree and the shadows around it, it makes it look like a old school castle. could be random or a clue.
