NT Alert: auto-alert for games! (Now with 100% more source code)
http://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1127356348

What is NT Alert?
A Windows/Linux program that alerts you when people are playing NT.

Why?
Because ANPA announcements aren't perfect.

How does it work?
It gets the server list from the master server and asks all servers their player count.
When the threshold is met or exceeded, you will be alerted.
If no connection can be made (because of network issues), you will be alerted.

Set the threshold with the up/down arrow keys.
(Set threshold to 0 to test the beep)

Features
* Neotokyo sounds & artwork (Including a cool icon)
* Non-obstructive beeping sound (ghost 'beep')
* 32-bit version for toaster friendliness
* Supports Windows 7 through Windows 10! (Someone please test Win XP, lmao)

Download:
https://github.com/Xunie/ntalert/releases/tag/v0.2-rc2

SHA256 (64-bit): d472a2f0e30e987afc72dac0ca738e1c3ae05b0762bebf577dac7960fadecc7f SHA256 (32-bit): a5492531a910e3edb3ed67012110c6f95d804d13d358976e6e4b185925b60f4b

Bugs/Issues:
* Missing openal32.dll on some systems (Requires installation of OpenAL, see below!)

MISSING OPENAL32.DLL!
Fixed by downloading the installer here: https://www.openal.org/downloads/

Source code
It's here: https://github.com/Xunie/ntalert

Depending on responses, I might add:
* "currently waiting" indicator, to see how many people have NT Alert open
* better GUI
* minimize to system tray
* start on system boot functionality

I know this is really a really obvious thing but having the app remember the threshold between running it would be great. Otherwise, this is a great tool and I feel like it could be hooked onto a lot of other community stuff like pug-bots (if possible, thats obviously a ton of work).

Yes yes, I understand the security concerns. I wouldn't trust shady .EXEs like this myself.

I will release the source code in a couple days. It's a bit of a mess is right now with gay porn in the git repo (ask Nev) and all the art files directly committed in there right now. I just want to clean it all up. It's a 103 MB git repo with 9 commits right now. :^)

Linux build you can do yourself, not sure if I'll build it myself. The code is almost completely cross-platform and only requires a recent version of SFML to compile.

The build process is a bit dirty and has some 'objcopy' stuff to embed all the files directly into the executable which are then loaded directly from RAM. I did this to end up wtih a truly "portable" program with no unzipping bs and no dependencies on any external files. So "using" it is nice.

As for the virus concerns... I hope giving you guys my word on this containing no backdoors and no telemetry puts to rest any security concerns. I would never intentionally harm the NT community like this as I seriously love NT.

If you're still worried about security? Just wait until a couple days until the source release and compile it yourself, you dong.

needs a 'snooze' button or have the beeps turn off when it detects ur running neotokyo lol good job though

also

lets just say for instance when you hit the snooze button/launch neotokyo, the beeps stop, once you quit playing, the app won't start beeping again until the number of players goes below the threshold and goes over the threshold again, so that way it wont be constantly beeping if you're done with neotokyo for the day, and it'd be more viable to keep your alert app running in the background where it is most useful

i have to cover my webcam now with xunie in my craptop fuck

Yeah, I need to sort that out. That's my top priority right now! :3

Anyhow, thanks for the kind words everyone. You're all great yourself and deserve nothing but the best.

Here's a small python script[pastebin.com] that does something similar for linux nerds.

When the total player count changes it shows a notification in the top right[i.imgur.com], if you're already playing it silences itself. Refresh rate and minimum players can be set.

Does this game run good on Linux?
