The AK-47 assault rifle emerged in the Soviet Union shortly after the end of World War II inspired by the German assault rifle Sturmgewehr 44, being the most manufactured rifle of all times. [1] It is estimated that the number of copies produced both in Russia and under license in countries like Bulgaria, China, Hungary, India, North Korea, Romania among others, reaches an impressive figure of 90 million. Countries such as Finland and Israel also relied on the design of this rifle to produce their M62 and Galil models, respectively. It is characterized by its great rusticity, ease of mass production, simplicity of operation and maintenance, besides recognized stability in low and high temperatures. Lacks in precision, ergonomics and weight requirements.
