Enlisted Ranks: Rec. - Recruit: A soldier who has not yet passed basic training. Pvt. - Private: A soldier who has passed basic training. A Private's job is to follow orders to the best of his abilities. Pfc. - Private, First Class: An experienced Private, Pfc.s are highly skilled and reliable Privates. Cpl. - Corporal: A junior NCO. Corporals tend to act as 2nd in command of a squad, but can act as squad leader if necessary. Sgt. - Sergeant: Sergeants act as squad leaders, in command of approximately 8-14 men. SSgt. - Staff Sergeant: Staff Sergeants can lead large squads, or act as platoon sergeant depending on the availability of NCOs. TSgt. - Technical Sergeant: Technical Sergeants (often called Tech-Sergeants) are designated with the billet of platoon sergeant, acting as 2nd in command of a platoon made up of 3 squads. FSgt. - First Sergeant: First Sergeants act as company level NCOs. MSgt. - Master Sergeant: Master Sergeants act as battalion level NCOs.

Technician Ranks: Technician ranks are for those who have skills warranting a promotion other than leadership skills. They are equal to a corresponding NCO rank, be it Cpl., Sgt., or SSgt.. Technicians are not necessarily NCOs, but are adressed as such, and due to their experience and skills, can be placed as second in command of a squad if needs be. T/5 - Technician, 5th Grade: Adressed as "Corporal" T/4 - Technician, 4th Grade: Adressed as "Sergeant" T/3 - Technician, 3rd Grade: Adressed as "Staff Sergeant"

Officer Ranks: 2Lt. - 2nd Lieutenant: Commands a platoon made up of 3 squads. 1Lt. - 1st Lieutenant: Can command a platoon, or act as a company-level officer if necessary. Cpt. - Captain: Commands a company, or a large specialised platoon. Maj. - Major: 2nd in command of the battalion. Lt. Col. - Lieutenant Colonel: Commander of the battalion.
