Fun games with reasonable achievements...
I've been running into a string of bad luck lately. First I started playing The Witcher 2, until I read up on Insane mode (of which finishing it on that difficulty is one of the achievements)... which essentially means you can't die ever or you start from the very beginning. Kind of killed my enthusiasm a little bit, and now the game is on the backburner.

Then I figured I would clean up Deadlight, thinking all I had left were some collectables and a slightly harder difficulty. Turns out Nightmare mode is another one of those "have to beat the game in one sitting, can't die" modes. Though it's a relatively short game, so that may be do-able someday when I have the time and patience.

Don't get me started on Max Payne 3.

I don't mind a bit of a challenge and I love achievements... but I'm not a masochist lol. Anyone know of any fun games with reasonable Steam achievements that I can look into? Any genre, any size/length? All I ask is that they be solo games. I have enough coop/multiplayer games I'll probably never finish lol.

Go nuts... ;-]

These should be no problem to 100% and they're all pretty good.

I was thinking more in general, then my game list in particular. Thanks though! Maybe I'll give Mark of the Ninja a fair shake (I tried it on my laptop but it ran too slow, so I'd need to install it on the big boy lol).

Funny game with achievements? Here we go :D

-Bastion (One of my fav's)
-F.E.A.R. 3 (Except for multi-player achievements, but I could help you with them. Also, there aren't servers at all for this game... ._.)
-Darksiders
-Metro 2033
-BINDING OF ISAAC!!! (Other of my fav's)
-The Basement Collection (AWESOME)
-Half-Life 2 with Episode 1 and 2
-Rocksmith (If you know how to play the guitar)
-Superbrothers: Sword & Sworcery EP

Some really hard challenges that you may like:

-LIMBO (Complete the game in one session with a max of 5 deaths)
-Sonic: The Hedgehog 4 - Episode 1 (Complete the final boss battle without being hit)
-The Binding of Isaac (Yep... I know I mentioned it as a non-hard achievements game... But it isn't REALLY hard when you know what to do. Also, you can't get bored of that game, it's just... Awesome... And yeah, there are some hard achievements like completing each part without being hit or things like that, but trust me, it's a great game :3)

My vote is for binding of isaac. I suscribe all what Shooten told you about it :)

Definately Bastion. Most of the achievements are easy to get, but the last few are challenging. It's also a really good game which shows how a good voice over can add a massive amount to the gameplay.

+1 for The Binding of Isaac too. Classic roguelike shooter and just wrong in so many ways.

Thomas Was Alone. Great little game with some collectibles that add a bit of replay value.

I started my achievement hunt on Half-Life 2 and had a blast. I especially enjoyed LAMBDA LOCATOR, as it shows you all of the nooks and crannies the developers put in that you don't usually see in a normal run through the game.

that was a LOT of fun. A walkthrough showed me a few things I had no idea existed. It was cool and non grindy :)

Does somebody have this Achievement from Garrys Mod?

Addict: You have wasted a year of your life playing GMod

You have to play the game a whole year which means 8760 hours.

Spec Ops is a good achievement game if you haven't tried it yet. All of them are sinlgeplayer achievements. I appreaciated that a lot.

And I agree with Max Payne. Some achievements are pushed way too far. I still need Air Ace and Breaking and Entering. If you need help with yours, maybe we can help each other. :)
