Diamondback can get crits easier than frontier justice, and it's way more powerful than fj without crits
And yes if you aim right in point blank fj's crits does more dph, but not if you move a little further than point blank or when it run out of ammo

It's much easier to get a sentry kill than a backstab if the enemy team is compotent. You actively need to do things to get the backstab. With a sentry, you sit and wait.

The Revolver can do nearly the same damage as a shotgun and has way more range... So Spy is good in face to face battle too.

He was not weak on face to face battle, he have a bloody shotgun, and frontier justice only give crit off sentry kills, that means you must have sentry destroyed to get the crit, and it have 50% clip penalty
If diamondback only have 3 shots trust me I would turn back to saying it's up

But you can destory the sentry at will to get the crits and Engineer has to be close to his target. Spy doesn't. He's weak because he has to walk up to you before he can actually do good damage.

It's op in pubs, you get easy knife kills off unaware players and easy gunkills off pros, amby is used when you can't get stabs, well actually it's fine but diamondback is op

No, because they because both require work to get the extra damage and do less damage if you don't fulfill the requirements. Makes an already risk/reward class even more risky. Never had a problem with either of them.

Diamondback is definitely straight upgrade and op, amby... Maybe you can remove the headshot speed penalty and make it minicrit on headshot

Not really. If you're caught out before you get any kills, you're at a disadvantage because you deal less damage. stock Revolver is solid all around, Diamond Back is good and bad depending on both very common situations that the player doesn't always have control over. It's not over powered, its downside's impact is just entirely dependent on the skill of your enemy.
