- ISSUE: Loot system is antiquated and non-innovative and non-rewarding. 99% of the loot in Grim Dawn is worthless junk as you will discover. This is because there is no additional weighting to get a higher chance of items for either of your classes, nevermind your build. This problem is exarcebated by the rarer the items are, making legendary items for your class and also your build pretty much impossible to get. Note: I have no problem with the drop rates of Epics and Legendaries, just that they should drop APPLICABLE equipment more often.

+ SOLUTION: A simple change would be to at least give you an increased chance of items for either of your hybrid classes, where applicable. This would still mean you rarely get an upgrade as there are many build variations within classes, but at least we are getting closer to a rewarding loot system.

Expanding on the smarter loot system - the weighting would simply read your class/classes and drop those +skill modifiers applicable "Occultist's blah blah" or "Arcanist's blah blah" at a higher rate. This rate could be something like 30%.

So 70% of the time you still get inapplicable loot for your toon, giving you ample possibility to get junk useless loot, or if you are lucky, maybe something for your alt.

This smarter loot system should be smarter though, since we are innovating. Based on dominant damage types done, it would then drop applicable "blah blah of Venom" etc. depending on if your 3 main damage types are Poison or DOTs like Acid. It doesn't have to be 3, could be even 4, if for some reason you are building some gimped character that would never survive Ultimate.

That is all.

The numbers can be tweaked obviously, I would actually say the opposite, I want 70% something applicable for my toon on my current playthrough so the majority isn't junk loot.
