That can only happen if the game in question actually makes use of the Steamworks DRM. Some games sold on Steam are completely DRM-free and can be run without needing any authentication from the Steam client.

Yea but those are a distinct minority, I'm talking about regular games here, the majority of them.

Regardless, there are many many games on Steam using DRM apart from just the cd-key authentication tied to your account.

Well, not having any idea what your visual impairment is, it's hard to recommend something I guess.

But if you just need a recommendation for a good laptop, here is the criteria

IPS panel (can add it yourself if need)
SSD (can do same)
960M for games minimum
i7 (no debates here, laptops are weak enough)

Lenovo Y50 for instance, or ASUS with similar specs, both below 900 euros.
