Yes, but the point being addressed was wether or not Steam itself was a DRM. And it's not. Steamworks can include DRM, and most games that make use of it do. And most games on Steam do make use of at least that part of Steamworks. But Steam itself isn't DRM

1. Steam forces you to authenticate your game before you can play it, every single time. Sure, you can authenticate once and then set Steam to use the "offline" mode, but you can only stay offline for so long, right?

That's an argument for spyware, not DRM.

3. Games on Steam retail for just as much as a boxed copy at a store. Plus, for paying the same amount, you can't even resell your games. On Steam, you are just merely buying a license to use the software. You don't own your games on Steam.

Technically you're always just buying a licence. Owning a DVD with a game on it is the same as owning a hard drive with a game on it.

Steam is a fucking DRM and you can't try to nitpick shit to say it isn't.

This isn't nitpicking. Steam is either a DRM or it isn't. And it just so happens that it isn't.

EDIT: And there is an opt-out for that.

I think it boils down to (and I got this from GoG guys demonising Steam as DRM) the fact that sometimes offline mode doesn't work as advertised.
