Why would defy death?

I'd rather have mankind work on "how to defy death" rather than "how to cut up your genitals".
although thats just my personal opinion so you don't have to agree with defying death though.

I like that they're working on both extending life expectancy and making people happier with the lives they already have. It would probably suck to live forever being unhappy with who you are and unable to change yourself.

The man who got pregnant did so before the sex change. Since she still had the inner workings of a woman, it did its thing.

Men don't have any of the required tools to make babies inside them. Only woman parts can actually make the baby. You're not going to piss children anytime soon.

I'd like to ask a philisophical question here regarding the ship of Theseus. Plutarch posed the question wether in the process of restoration, if every single piece of Theseus' ship were to be replaced, would it still be the same ship afterward?

So I'll ask, if a person born biologically female were to have every single part of their body replaced with a male one, would you still consider that person female?

Not at all. Children don't know how to properly apply that information. That's why they so often get confused or try to act like they think or know their parents want them to act. The big problem is that most parents also lack the ability to make such a decision with rather than for their child. They're ability is often compromised by personal bias, religious views, and/or denial. Though that is more an issue of their competence rather than intelligence. Doctors, both medical and psychiatric, should definitely be involved along with the child in making such a decision.

You could remove the idea from all human conciousness and it wouldn't change much. There would just be a delay before the concept of a person not fitting into their biological gender role. The idea of changing the physical body to better match the mind would quickly reemerge.
